Description: Focusing chakra, the user can propel themselves through the water at speeds of up to 20 mph. They can also maneuver through the water as well as a fish. This ability is used for underwater combat, putting them at an advantage against anyone else who would have to swim. This ability, however, does not allow the user to breathe underwater so a breathing mask of sorts is needed, unless the user only wishes to stay underwater for small periods of time.
Riku returned to the clearing a week later after his fight with the two missing ninja. The bodies had been removed from the side of the Lake. Apparently, someone had taken the two missing nin into Kirigakure to claim the reward. It did not matter to Riku though. He was here for the purposes of training. He removed a scroll from his hoodie pocket. Opening it, the Kanji for Shark appeared at the top, along with a list of instructions. It was a sort of ability that would allow the user to maneuver underwater as well as a fish. He attached a breathing mask he had received from a traveling nin and stepped into the water, submerging himself completely.
He immediately swam to the middle of the lake, going down about halfway to the bottom, which happened to be 30 feet deep at its lowest point. He closed his eyes and floated under the water for a few minutes, concentrating, focusing, meditating, and most of all, building his chakra. This ability would be much easier once he learned it, though for right now, it would take alot of concentration and Chakra to perform, as this was his first time.
After being underwater for several minutes, he opened his eyes and released his chakra in the way the scroll had described. Unfortunately, no movement occured. Once again, he closed his eyes and focused, this time placing his hands in a seal to help him focus his chakra better. After a few more minutes, he released it again. He felt a slight push, though he still remained in basically the same spot he had been.
He took deep breaths through the mask. He usually got frusturated at this point, though he remained calm for two reasons; One, he was now used to the fact that he wouldn't be able to learn everything right away and two, he was deep under water and panicking would probably not be wise. He began focusing his chakra once again, invisioning himself moving through the water with the speed and fluidity of a fish. Hopefully, this would help him along a bit. He released, and felt that same push, this time stronger, but he still remained in the same spot.
Though difficult, he knew this technique would prove useful so he remained persistant, trying his hardest to focus. He floated in the middle of the water for a while, watching the sea weed at the bottom move with the slight current, observing the fish swimming by in small schools. The calmness of life underwater reflected in Riku, as he felt his body relax, his mind clear, and his over all mood lighten to one of complete calmness, indifferent to the problems of life. He released the chakra he had been storing in the way the scroll showed, hoping that this time, he would move through the water just as a fish did... _________________ This is Riku Tensei. His chakra propelled him through the water only about a foot before he came to a halt once again. He smiled under his mask slightly. He now knew how much Chakra he needed and how to release it to start movement. All he had to learn now was how to keep a steady flow to continue movement. The sound of the ocean played in his ears. The light pitter patter of rain drops patting the surface of the water could be heard even where Riku was 15 feet below the surface.
  Once again, he released chakra, moving about a foot and coming to a halt again. He hadn't released enough chakra this time, so movement was not sustained. Fish swam close by him, brushing by his pant leg, almost taunting him. No, fish didn't understand. Hell, the fish probably didn't even know what he was. He once again released chakra, moving forwards again and stopping after only a foot. Unfortunately, he released too much Chakra this time and had to wait a while for it to build back up.
  It was a bit more difficult to focus and build chakra whilst floating under water, but he had to remain underwater to do it, as he would need to learn eventually. It took him 15 minutes to build his chakra back up to a reasonable level, though it wasn't a problem, as he didn't really have much else to do anyways. That's what happens when you don't have many friends. He released and leaned forwards, pushing himself further into the center of the lake, this time moving a few feet before the stream of chakra cut off. For some reason, he was having trouble releasing one steady stream of chakra. It would start off at a good level, but the deplete slowly untill he wasn't releasing enough to keep himself moving.
  He moved his body around, stretching his limbs and cracking his knuckles and neck which made an odd clicking sound under the water rather than the usual cracking sound it made in the air, then again, that was to be expected as sound waves traveled differently through water. He stored up as much chakra as he could this time, careful to regulate the amount he released. He was pushed forwards through the water again, this time with his eyes closed. Hopefully, he finally figured out how much chakra he needed to release in order to maintain a steady rate of movement. _________________ This is Riku Tensei.  I changed my name to 2-D. He felt himself still moving through the water at a decent speed. Opening his eyes, he confirmed this feeling. He smiled and spent the next 5 minutes riding through the water in circles and loops. After his fun was over, he emerged from the water onto the lake's shore. He picked up another scroll he had brought with him and opened it. It was instructions on how to utilize this new ability to combat with Taijutsu very effectively under water. He grinned as he pulled the breathing mask down and let it hang around his neck. Rolling up the scroll, he left the area to return home.
