Appearance: The man known as Angeal Matsuyama, a man shrouded in honor, has an aura about him which exclaims greatness. His hair is a deep jet black color, similar to a raven in flight. This hair is very thin, and is always being tossed and turned by sudden gusts of wind. The hair sometimes gets in his eyes in small strands, but he hardly ever ties it back, allowing it to toss madly in the wind. Running down his jaw line, it ends in two sharp sideburns, while the rest of his hair is slicked and oiled back.
His ears are small, rounded, and he wears a small blood-red ruby studded earring in his left ear. Going down to his eyes, they are slightly slanted, and are a piercing blue color, giving the viewer the impression of an endless ocean. His eyebrows are always slanted with the serious look he wields on his face. His furrowed eyebrows have left deep stress marks on his forehead from years of constant seriousness towards the world.
The nose on his face is slightly pointed, giving the impression of an arrow's point. His nostrils are medium sized, like a dime. His mouth is always stretched thin, as he hardly ever smiles at jokes, or at anything for that matter. But if one is ever lucky enough to see Angeal crack a smile, they will find the gems held within. The teeth, small white pearls on a pink battlefield, are all perfectly aligned, being a dentist's dream.
The chin is round, with a stubble of a beard, along with a small scar running across the lining of the bone.
His arms are muscular, giving the viewer an idea of a man who exercises constantly. They are very tanned, and when he anticipates a battle, he will usually wear gloves. He has a small scar on his right palm, in the shape of a star. Â
Running down, he wears a black vest made of leather that sways when he runs, with a small fur topping on the neckline. He wears steel shoulder protectors cast in iron. Â The vest has small metal bands on the back so he can hold his sword when not in battle. He wears a three-layered belt to hold his pants up, black jeans the color of a starless night sky. He will usually wear black hiking boots on a normal day.

Personality: Angeal is very stoic and morally straight as an arrow. When he was young, he was taught to treasure honor and pride over all else.
He is usually very grim and melancholy, suggesting some type of tragedy in his past. However, when in the presence of good friends, he will open up, and smile freely. When forced to fight, he will fight with ferocity and determination with his longsword. However, he hardly ever will fight if there are other options to avoid violence, running out of the question.
When faced with a challenge, he does not walk away, but will usually try to figure out the best way to beat it.

Background:Angeal Matsuyama was not always like he is now. Growing up in a rich nomadic family, he lived happy until he was fourteen. Then, a robber, intent on leaving no witnesses, killed off his entire family and ran off with his family’s treasure, the Jewel of Mans Honor. Despairing his loss, and anger growing in his heart, he got permission to leave and find the thief.
Two years later, in the Mist Village, he found a man who taught him how to fight with a longsword. At his last lesson, he was given a sword and sheath, and he felt he was prepared to kill the thief. However, fate was cruel; he found the thief, but in the fighting, his teacher was killed. Furious, Angeal killed the man with a sword thrust, and flung his body into the ocean. He then buried his teacher, and left the Mist Village. Then, seeing nowhere else to go, he went to live in Kusagakaure in the Outlands.
The losses in his life have changed him into a grave man, grim and seemingly cold to strangers. He still mourns for his family and teacher, but does not let it show in public. Recently, he is thinking of heading towards the Leaf Village.
