There are several different fighting styles used by characters on NRC which determine their battle strengths and weaknesses. Every character can know up to two styles regardless of rank and title. Note that when you pick two styles, the first one is your primary one, in which your character is more skilled than in your secondary one. You may also choose to specialize in a certain style: this will boost your skill in the area in exchange for lacking skill in the other fields (this is done by picking one style). Following is the list of styles and their effects:
Taijutsu - this style represents melee combat, whether unarmed or utilizing weapons. Higher skill in this style means better technique, strength and speed in battle. While one untrained in this style loses almost insignificantly to a secondary user, the skill gap between the same person and a primary user is more noticeable and quite severe with a specialist.
One without this style can only learn taijutsu moves up to B rank and no kinjutsu
One with taijutsu as secondary style can learn taijutsu up to A rank or B rank kinjutsu
One with taijutsu as primary style can learn taijutsu up to S rank or A rank kinjutsu(Can not Learn S Rank Kinjutsu)
A taijutsu specialist is not limited in learning taijutsu techniques
Strength: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Speed: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Agility: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Stamina: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Ninjutsu - shinobi skilled in this style tend to use ninja techniques more than others.
Higher skill in this style means better charka control and higher chakra reserves. While one untrained in this style loses almost insignificantly to a secondary user, the skill gap between the same person and a primary user is more noticable and quite severe with a specialist.

Chakra Contro: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Genjutsu - this style is based on the use of illusionary ninja techniques. Such things require high intelligence and willpower, which are a common trait among genjutsu users.
Higher skill in this style means much better chakra control and slightly higher chakra reserves. While one untrained in this style loses almost insignificantly to a secondary user, the skill gap between the same person and a primary user is more noticable and quite severe with a specialist.
One without this style can only learn genjutsu moves up to B rank and no kinjutsu
One with genjutsu as secondary style can learn genjutsu up to A rank or B rank kinjutsu
One with genjutsu as primary style can learn genjutsu up to S rank or A rank kinjutsu(Can not Learn S Rank Kinjutsu)
A genjutsu specialist is not limited in learning genjutsu techniques
Chakra Pool: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Hand Seals Speed: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Chakra Control: +80% for a Specialist, +40% for a Primary, +20% for a Secondary
Ijutsu - this is a special style based on using supporting and healing ninja techniques. It is required to learn medical ninjutsu.
Higher skill in this style means better chakra control and slightly higher chakra reserves. This style is not battle-oriented, but might still give a minor advantage in a single combat.
One without this style cannot learn medical techniques
One with ijutsu as secondary style can only learn medical techniques of C rank or lower and no kinjutsu
One with ijutsu as primary style can learn medical techniques up to A rank and up to B rank kinjutsu
An ijutsu specialist is not limited in learning medical techniques
Chakra Pool: +20% for a Specialist, +10% for a Primary, +5% for a Secondary
Hand Seals Speed: +20% for a Specialist, +10% for a Primary, +5% for a Secondary
Chakra Control: +120% for a Specialist, +60% for a Primary, +30% for a Secondary
Puppet Mastery - this is a special style that utilizes puppets to do battle. It is required to be able to control puppets.
Higher skill in this style means being able to control higher amounts of more complex puppets and utilize more powerful puppet techniques. It gives a serious advantage in combat but may leave the user vulnerable. The more puppets someone is controlling at the same time, the harder it becomes for them to use jutsus and move around themselves. Naturally, stronger puppets also require more concentration to be used to their full potential.
One without this style cannot control puppets
One with puppet mastery as secondary style can control up to 3 (1 + 1 per three ranks above E) puppets of rank B or lower and use puppet jutsus of up to B rank but no kinjutsu
One with puppet mastery as primary style can control up to 6 (2 + 1 per two ranks above E and an extra puppet at SS rank) puppets up to A rank and use puppet jutsus up to A rank or B rank kinjutsu
A puppet master is not limited in puppet or puppet jutsu ranks and can control up to 10 (3 + 1 per rank above E and an extra puppet at SS rank) puppets
Chakra Pool: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Chakra Control: +80% for a Specialist, +40% for a Primary, +20% for a Secondary
An "unofficial" style is Fuuinjutsu, or sealing techniques. Depending on the technique, it may or may not require long preparations, but fuuinjutsu always leave some kind of mark on the target. They are also special in the sense that they have some kind of effect for as long as the target lives or until they are somehow removed without draining the user's chakra. Fuuinjutsu isn't an official style, because everyone can use sealing techniques. However, the rules for learning them are quite different:
If Fuuinjutsu isn't one of your styles, you can only have a sealing technique of 1 rank lower than that of your character, kinjutsu or not
If Fuuinjutsu is your secondary style, you can have a sealing technique 1 rank higher than that of your character, or 1 lower if it's a kinjutsu
If Fuuinjutsu is your primary style, you can have a sealing technique 1 rank higher than that of your character, or the same if it's a kinjutsu
If Fuuinjutsu is your specialty, you can have a sealing technique 2 ranks higher than that of your character, or 1 higher if it's a kinjutsu
Chakra Pool: +40% for a Specialist, +20% for a Primary, +10% for a Secondary
Hand Seals Speed: +60% for a Specialist, +30% for a Primary, +15% for a Secondary
Chakra Control: +60% for a Specialist, +30% for a Primary, +15% for a Secondary
The exception to the above rankings are bloodline techniques, the requirements of which are lowered. Irrespective of the style it belongs to, you can learn a bloodline jutsu as if your skill in the style was one step higher. This means that someone without ninjutsu as one of their fighting styles would still be able to learn an A rank bloodline ninjutsu technique as if they had ninjutsu for secondary style, and a genjutsu/taijutsu user would be able to learn a S rank bloodline kin genjutsu as if they were a genjutsu specialist.
To even out characters without a bloodline with those who have one, non-bloodline characters can have an additional secondary fighting style. This means you can have one primary style and two secondary ones or one specialization and a secondary style with it.
Also note that some jutsus are of a mixed style, for example taijutsu/ninjutsu or ninjutsu/genjutsu. In this case, a S-rank kinjutsu would be impossible to meet the requirements for. However, you can still learn this technique if your two styles are the same as the jutsu's, i.e. you would still be able to learn a S-rank tai/nin kinjutsu if you have taijutsu and ninjutsu for fighting styles, regardless of which one is higher (although one of them must be your primary or specialty).
All characters are allowed to switch their fighting styles once, though there needs to be a good reason for it. Keep in mind, if you change styles, you do not get to replace any jutsus that you may loose.
Also, a special Style point will be awarded to SS Ranks as a specialized 4 Kinjutsu Point training. Allowing them 4 or 3 Points depending on Bloodline. This special training can also be given out to members who deserve it based on their merits on RP or as a special prize in Tourneys or Raffles and the such. This will allow either a second specialization or a major for those with Bloodlines. The trade off is, that you become more susceptible to other styles if you take a Second Specialization. So be wary and make good decisions. _________________

(1Multiple Accounts - [list]Due to the nature of NRC and it's delicately balanced RPG system, having more than one account at any time is not permitted. If there are multiple people in a household using NRC, each person is permitted one account. In the case of multiple accounts per household (operated by different people) you must PM any, or all, of the Admins alerting them of the multiple peoples in the household, to avoid making invalid bans. Below are the consequences for creating multiple accounts:[/list:u]

(16) Complaints - [list]We take pride in our forum however there may be times where some of our members or guest may feel upset. If this is the case please send an Admin a pm clearly stating what you are upset about, if you can take a screen shot to back up your claim then please do.
Anyone found to be abusing the complaints system will be removed form the forum.[/list:u]
(17)Staff Wars - [list]If at any time an Admin feels that staffers are disagreeing on topics based on personal reasons, or they are intentionally reverting each other's actions, editing their posts illegally, or committing any type of conspiracy the staff found guilty will be demoted and banned for a duration that will be determined based on the offense.[/list:u]
(1Multiple Accounts - [list]Due to the nature of NRC and it's delicately balanced RPG system, having more than one account at any time is not permitted. If there are multiple people in a household using NRC, each person is permitted one account. In the case of multiple accounts per household (operated by different people) you must PM any, or all, of the Admins alerting them of the multiple peoples in the household, to avoid making invalid bans. Below are the consequences for creating multiple accounts:[/list:u]
[list]1st Offense: All account are banned permanently, excluding the original account. (ex. If you have 3 accounts ,one was created on January 23rd of the current year, the other July 23rd of the same year, and December 23rd of the same year, then the ones created on July 23rd and December 23rd will be banned, and the oldest account being the January 23rd account, will remain unbanned.)
2nd Offense (aka: You do it again, even after all but the original account are banned): All accounts are banned permanently, the original account is only banned for 1 week per account created after the first account (ex. You had three accounts, you are banned for 2 weeks. You had 5 accounts, you are banned for 4 weeks. Etc.).
3rd Offense(aka: You do it again, even after you've been banned for a period of time): All accounts are banned permanently.[/list:u]
[list]The only legal way to maintain multiple accounts is with explicit permission given by the site's current owner.[/list:u]
* By Piracy we mean
Illegal copying of a product such as software or music.
The unauthorized duplication and/or use and distribution of a software program, including Music, Programs,Movies etc.
This also includes copying post from one forum to another with out the consent of the original author.
** By Legal we mean:
The selling of any material including drugs, guns , knives and any other product under the current law which is illegal.
Also the showing and allowing the showing of any material which is against the law and also against the MyFreeForum Terms And Conditions, this would include pornography in any shape or form.
Further Rules:
(1) Gold Members cannot start topics in the staff room, they may however post in subjects if they have a valid point.
(2) RPG mods cannot counter a claim an Admin has claimed. They may however, counter with a Owner to have the owner bypass their claim.
(3) Staff may not edit their own Applications, even at Admin level. You can however, edit someone else's application if you let an Admin know.
