Hyugo has an oval face accented with expressive eyebrows which most everybody remembers him for as they give away most of his emotions, from ecstasy to agony an everywhere in between. His teeth, upon closer examination, are slightly crooked (but only exposed for such examination when Hyugo eats or laughs) and covered by a thin upper lip and average lower lip which, even when in a neutral expression, curve up at the corners; a sign of good fortune a soothsayer once told him. His hair is an almost neon green and cut into a wide mohawk, though never spiked as it's so long the front end drapes five inches off his chin. Most uniquely however is that his hair has a bright blue metallic sheen to it made possible by the extract of a rare seaweed, a trick he learned while living on the coast before academy.
His clothes, once magnificent, are second-hand bargains distressed by the intense physical labor he has performed to pay off the various debts he and his mother have formed over the years. With that he wears geta sandals, another thrift store find, and keeps a folding paper fan tucked in his belt.
His body became muscular and stocky from the hard labor (Low skilled jobs i.e. fishing, plowing, etc.) he performed to support both him and his mother, but has recently begun falling out of shape and becoming a bit more pudgy from not having to do quite as intense physical work.
Personality: Hyugo can be a bit of a wild card but in his most predictable state is hypocritical, intelligent, bitterly sarcastic, and , above all, fiercely stubborn. Because Hyugo planned to finish University and go on to become a scientist before he even considered shinobi academy, he is well versed in the basic academics (except for math outside basic physics) and and always has to correct someone when their grammar is wrong or they state an incorrect historical fact. In the rare event that he himself is corrected by someone else or they are able to solve one of his confusing riddles (He's always inventing new riddles) his usual response is "I was just testing you."
He is stubborn in every sense of the word, simply refusing to do anything that he does not want to do, such as following through with strategies he deems as being belittling to his art. This occurs infrequently however as he often lets such plans come to fruition, only to tell the creator 'I told you so' if they were to fail. It is exceedingly difficult to make him truly angry or jealous, but the few ways would be insulting his mother or giving attention to an artist he sees as being less talented than himself. Insults to his art are brushed off without much of a response, though he will refer to those people as 'weirdoes.'
Outspoken, Hugo possesses a dark sense of humor combined with bitter sarcasm mixed in with normal speech. He is apt to go off on long, mostly unrelated tangents when explaining something and gained a reputation at the academy for making any situation funny just by saying what was on his mind, which he does often.
Being a strict adherent to the surrealist school of art he lives his life as though it were a work of art itself, many of his actions be intentionally strange to elicit a humorous response from spectators (Ex. When introduced to someone for the first time he frequently fashions a clay mustache, handlebar style, and offers it to them as one would offer a cigarette to an acquaintance.) His battles often become shows of masculinity to gain the lustful eye of both the opposite and the same sex. Hyugo almost always thinks with his stomach, gobbling down any food offered to him and often other's when they are not looking.

Name: Bunshin no Jutsu - Clone Technique

Description: Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. The Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the Bunshin gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

Description: Henge no Jutsu is a ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. Henge allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents. However, it does not grant one the properties of said objects or skills of that person, meaning turning into a weapon will not allow you to cut an opponent and turning into a dog will not give you a great sense of smell.
This technique can also be used in conjunction with someone, who may a person, a pet or a summoning creature, in which case it is called Konbi Henge (Combination Transformation). However, its principles remain the same.
Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu - Body Substitution Technique

Description: Kawarimi no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themself with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack. Naturally, it won't work with another person unless their skill gap is enormous, and the object to replace oneself with must be close in size and weight to the ninja themselves. This technique must be set up a little ahead when fighting skilled opponents, otherwise, you may end up getting struck because you wouldn't have enough time to use it.

Description: Once the Clay-Clone has been created, the user can form a hand seal to cause it to be set to explode. After this hand seal has been made, if the clone is touched, it will erupt in a large explosion.

Background: Hyugo is really the product of a chance occurrence, in his own words he simply "Should not exist." His mother had lived her whole life on the Lightening country's mysterious clouded coast. She wasn't very well received in the small fishing village she resided in as she was a pawn broker, taking trinkets from the already poor villagers and selling them back to them for a ridiculously inflated price. This didn't last forever as the townspeople refused to give her their items and instead traded them with traveling merchants. What she did have she couldn't sell and ended up giving back all that she had collected, going out of business and falling behind on rent as she had no other skills she could utilize to make money, she was both uneducated and rather frail.
As fate would have it, one day, just a few days before she would have received an eviction notice, a group of foreign shinobi arrived in the port of the sleepy village. She was not well versed in geography, a result of her lack of an education, and didn't know specifically what country they could have come from. Just as soon as these foreign diplomats arrived, the town street walkers began their work. His mother looked at them with disgust, but she was at her wits end, thought she was far more attractive than any of those women and decided the only was to rid herself of debt, for now at least, was to do the unthinkable and sell her own body. She made haste in choosing who she viewed as the most attractive of the available men (after all, she was afraid of changing her mind) and gave him a price she thought was much too high seeing that the other 'working women' had bartered down prices with their men. To her astonishment he accepted the first price she gave; nine months later Hyugo was born.
Hyugo's birth did nothing to improve the villager's view of his mother and, unfortunately, his grotesque bloodline was seen as a fitting trait for her only child to have. His mother was determined to raise her son to have a better image, though it was too late for her, he still had a chance seeing as the village only showed contempt towards her and viewed the child as being an innocent victim ignorant to his mother's wrongdoing. Using the leftover money she had she enrolled Hyugo in school hoping to eventually land him a spot in university, but she would have to take things one step at a time. In the meantime she worked menial tasks she had once been ashamed to do to send Hyugo to school.
As Hyugo aged and matured he began working more and more to keep up with the rising costs of his school bills and give his mother time for rest. His mother became deeply spiritual during that time, influencing Hyugo to remember love in every situation and never seek revenge, in an attempt to prevent a mistake like hers from being repeated in the future. Hyugo worked many long, arduous jobs when not in school an had next to no free time. In the small parcel of freedom he did have he would always be practicing with his clay artwork (Though he would not learn of their potential explosive properties until he attended shinobi academy) and making many intricate clay sculptures which he would sell for a small amount of extra money.
The year before he was to go off to university, he was somewhat forced to join a traveling freak show to make enough money to purchase the necessary texts. While in the outskirts of Kumogakure a shinobi well versed in the various bloodlines of the world immediately recognized him as possessing the rare Kibaku Nendo. After the show, this shinobi approached Hyugo and told him of all the wonders his extra mouths could do, and off all the money he could make using them. Hypnotized by the power and wealth presented to him, Hyugo forgot of the lessons of humility taught to him by his mother and agreed to join the academy on the spot. He felt he could put off higher education for a while (he was already advanced for his age as it was), further his artistic ability and save extra money for school and his mother whom he's always felt indebted to.
At age 16 he breezed through the academy, his maturity lending him more focus than his much younger peers, and at 17 has finally been ordained as a Genin.
