Truth behind the masks- Ryu and Kite's past revealed!

Eric Hatake

Ryu Kisuke, originally known as Eric Hatake, had just rescued his students from a whole bunch of bandits attacking them all at once. Now he carried Kite on his back while said genin's stamina and chakra levels go back to their normal states. His other student, Lita, was walking next to him. "Lita, while me and Kite rest, we both have something very important to tell you. I had talked to Kite about it before I left, that if another genin joined our team, a trustworthy one, we would tell them the truth. Of why I hide my true appearence and why Kite has to hide his left eye." he said seriously. They stepped inside a safehouse he had 'taken over' from bandits foolish enough to try and challenge him. Once inside, he activated some seals he had gotten a friend to do, which would make the place sound proof from the outside.

Lita walked next to Ryu-sensei who was carrying her teammate, Kite. She looked worried, he sensei picked something up, but she didn't see what it was, and now Lita was extremely worried, her sensei looked kind of slyish, and shadowed. They walked to a safehouse and they entered the building. She watched in silence as her sensei started to do thing she have never seen him do, it seemed really important What is he doing? Is it this important? Ryu-sensei is not what I thought he was...his true appearance? I always thought that Kite thought he looked cool with the covering there, Lita thought to herself, and she did notice that he picked it up to show his left, the Sharingan, of course Lita had heard of the near-extinct clan, but she had never asked how he had got it, because he only took it off when they were in trouble, and Lita never thought of asking, while she was in danger, and forgot when they were done. Lita just sat down against the wall, and sat there in silence until her sensei was going to explain things to her.

"First off, I guess I'll show you my true appearence." Ryu said. He took a yellowish colored pill out of his pocket and munched on it. When he swallowed, he changed back into his true self. When he took off the blindfold, his red eyes changed to gold. His blue hair shrunk and became white and black. Two scars appeared on his face, one going down his right eye, the other going to his left cheek. The outline of two other scars were seen on his body. "My true name, is Eric Hatake. This scars, were self-inflicted. They represent what I sinned. Not protecting the one I loved, not protecting my home, betraying those I cared about, and my powerlessness to do anything about it." The Sannin sat down. "I was the adopted brother of the famous Sharingan Kakashi. He treated me well, but it wasn't enough. I strived to be like him, from Academy student to Chuunin. Somewhere along that line, I fell in love with Syra Ozanryu. Although it didn't look like it, we were very much in love once. Then it fell to pieces, when she betrayed Mist, and....I betrayed Konoha."

Eric took a deep breath and continued. "From there, I fought with Oto in the Konoha/Oto war. Although it was kinda forced. Konoha attacked me before I could say anything. After that, me and Syra grew apart, and I started to want the power to do everything I couldn't do. So I went to the man who would eventaully want my head, Zieg Itichi. He taught me the Chidori, and then I met the second woman I would come to love, and then marry. Reileyn Itichi. We supported each other, and eloped to Konoha, where I was reluctantly accepted back. But Zieg's spy, Kiyo, he came and snatched Reileyn from me. Then Rio came, and I trained in the forest of death. I gave myself these scars there, and stabbed my blade into the rock. Rio faked my death so I could be in peace. When I met Lava Mai in my travels, he trained me in medicene and everything that I know now, save the Chidori and its brother jutsus. I even made up one of my own. I also met the 5th Hokage, who made me a Sannin. From there, I met you." he finished. "Kite, it's your turn now." he said.

Lita listened intently to her sensei's story. Lita liked this new..well.. this look Lita has never seen before. Lita had called, Ryu-sensei, because she didn't know his last name, and should have been calling him Kisuke-sensei, and she just found out that Ryu-sensei, well Hatake-sensei's life was filled with drama, girls, betraying their village, but he was getting married. Awww...how sweet... Lita thought, but he had to leave her. Thoughts ran to Lita's head, it wasn't questions, well some of them were, but it was confusion, what was their reasons for telling all these things about themselves. That was one of Lita's main question and she didn't want to interrupt them by asking them silly questions, that probably could be answered later.

"Alright. I told Lita-kun part of my life already, but bits and pieces. I guess I should start. My appearence and name are true. I guess it started right after I graduated from the Academy. I was one of those so called 'hopeless' cases. They also wouldn't give me a sensei because I was blind in my left eye, and they said for a genin, that would be something that only slowed other's down. Disappointed, I went back to Wave country, when I acidentally fell into a grave. It had been raining a lot that week, so the earth was easily able to turn into runoff. Tnere, I saw a dead woman, but her eyes were still open. I looked at them, and then I was pulled into what was called the 'Tsukuyomi world.'. There, Sharingan users control the fabric of space, time, and reality. The woman, Leyra Uchiha, or more speifically, the memory of her trapped inside the sharingan, told me to take her eyes, and not let them be a waste. I respect the wishes of the dead. So I took them out with a kunai and gave her a new grave and coffin to forever sleep in." Kite explained, narrating about one half of his long story. He pulled off the headband, and opened his left eye so Lita could clearly see the Sharingan.

"After that, I went home to Wave, and me and my brother got surgury, and we both came out with Sharingan eyes. Mine had the Mangekyo for some reason, while my brothers had the regular Sharingan. My brother quickly rose from the rank of genin to Chuunin. From there....he went mad with power that the Sharingan gave him. Or maybe, that's what the memory of Leyra did to him. I resisted all of her mind tricks against me, and I never used the eye since I got it. One night, when I returned home from training, I saw my father and mother dead. My brother stood over them, bloody kunai in hand. I fought him in a blind rage, and for the first and last time, I had him experience what the Tsukuyomi could do. In that world, for 3 days, I had him go through insufferable torture, but only ten seconds had passed in the real world. When the time limit ended, I collapsed from Chakra exhaustion, and he escaped." Kite continued, and then he closed his eye and put the headband back over it.

"When I woke up, I cursed my powerlessness, and then I went to train. By accident, I met Eric-sensei and he said he would train me when he was done with his own training. I trained in many different aspects, but stayed with mostly Taijutsu and weapons. When we were training, Leyra pulled me into the Tsukuyomi, and using an Uchiha trick, she shut off the Mangekyo from me, saying I had to earn it the hard way, by killing your best friend. And now, here we are." Kite concluded. He couldn't bring himself to look at Lita. He thought she was probably ashamed at him now, or disgusted. He wouldn't blame her if she did feel that way.

Lita did not know what to say to any of the things they told her, their lives were so unlucky, she didn't want to say dreadful, but she did kind of hear only the bad things in Kite's speech. She was speechless, her lives compared to theirs was absolutely heaven, but they had some beautiful things in their lives too, she didn't forget about those either. If Kite wants great power...he would have to kill his best friend, was I his best friend? Would he kill me to get that power? "Uhh..well.. I dont know what to say to all of this, this is such a shock to me, but I do have a question, out of all the people, why me to tell this all to, why tell me now, what is the reason of me knowing all of this, why do you guys trust so much? I mean, I could just escape and tell people, but you guys know I wouldn't do that..." Lita asked question, and hopefully they weren't mad at her for asking these questions.

"Don't worry Lita. I won't kill you to get that power back. I don't want it." Kite said with a smile. "I do love you. I mean it." He remembered what Leyra had told him about the Sharingan. "Besides, everytime I use the Tsukuyomi, my eyesight in that eye would get worse and worse....until it finally goes blind. I don't want to be blind in one eye again." he said.

"We told you this Lita, because you're our squadmate." Eric said. "We didn't want you with us, and keep lying to you everyday, thinking that we're something that we're not." He sighed, and kept going. "If you had found out eventually, or from another source, you'd be enraged at us, wondering why we didn't trust you enough to tell you these things. So...we decided it was best for you to know now than later."

Lita eyes filled with tears, she was mad or sad, she was happy, that her teammates, no, friends would care so much, well, she knew they cared about her a lot, but she didn't know it was that much, it had only been a few days since they met, but it felt like a lifetime. She wiped away the tear that rolled down her cheek. "Thank you, both you of, thank you," Lita repeated. She got up from where she was sitting against the wall, and patted the dirt off her bottom. "Okay, team, where are we going next? Now that you have told your stories, what are we doing next? Oh, sensei, do you want me to call you, Ryu-sensei, or Kisuke-sensei? And sensei, what was that thing you picked up from the dead bandits you killed earlier today?" Lita asked, she was still sharp and still remember, how her sensei hastily moved them to this safehouse.
