Name: Cielle “Hio” Hikura
Age: 329, appears in late teens/early twenties
Gender: Female
Height: 5ft 7in
Weight: 167lbs
Appearance:
Leaning towards the taller spectrum, Cielle’s quite comfortable with herself, though she’s never been fully aware of her looks either. Born blind, the girl’s become accustomed to going with what feels right (and a bit of other folks’ opinions as well). Once lopping off most of her hair at a young age, Cielle quickly decided she preferred the comforting weight of her locks and thus keeps her hair quite long. Generally kept up in a ponytail for travel, she’s also quite fond of putting some of it up while keeping lower layers free to move, especially when it’s cold or she’s simply relaxing.
Losing the visual connection to the world also created a desire and need for her movements to be more precise, Cielle striving for a stronger control over her body. Though senses enhanced naturally, she further pushed them to expand so that she could “see” in other ways, while at the same time working until her body could react more strongly to her whims. For this reason whilst others played with Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, and dabbled in Taijutsu, Cielle chose to focus completely on this style. Her body is kept in fighting form for the most part, not bulging with muscles because that could limit certain motions, but enough to deliver a solid blow that would leave some breathless while maintaining desired grace.
Clothing is a mixture of tight and loose to best work with her preferred style, the outer most layers generally baggy or a bit oversized to permit the full range of motion. It’s not uncommon for some of those top layers to disappear during a fight in case they became a weakness, and as such she retains a layer beneath that’s tighter, but also covers the necessities so it won’t restrict. Color choice generally sticks towards pastels, pale colors, and the occasional bit of black, most of the pale colors being various shades of brown and gray to avoid wardrobe disasters. The girl does keep a pale purple and a dark-to-pale green variation in stock as more of “party” outfits or what not (usually worn on her whims since Cielle hardly attends parties or social gatherings). Because touch is a major sense for her, she tends to wear soft soled shoes, but rather dislikes sandals because that’s a little too exposed for anything but casual in her mind.
Thanks to her blindness, both eyes lack a certain liveliness, what could presumed to be black lightened and discolored through the milky haze that blocks her vision. Instead she tends to have grayish eyes, light or lack thereof often determining their exact shade in the moment. Able to occasionally sense people’s discomfort over staring at them, the woman mostly keeps her eyes shut, and at the same time doesn’t care for glasses or a sash binding them because that’d bring too much attention to the issue as well. In her preference she’d rather people just stay comfortable.
Spoiler:
Race: Altered Human/Caucasian/Asian
Hair: Long, platinum blond
Eyes: Gray/dark gray, milky
Body: Fit and limber
Ethnicity: Hi no Kuni
Personality:
If you offer Cielle to stop and smell the roses then she is damn well the type to accept that offer. The girl likes very much to enjoy the present rather than dwell too much on the past or future because the past is carved in stone and anything can happen in the future. Such a mindset does tend to annoy some of her people, most notably her mother and a couple of siblings because they tend to brood a lot on the future and what may happen. However Cielle hardly believes the future’s written into a pile of rocks like the past, and views it more like paper ready for origami folding: you really haven’t decided until the moment what to turn it into (and then possibly it hardens into a rock or something because the girl usually manages to ruin her better metaphors).
Despite the expected jadedness from the numerous memories the woman possesses, Cielle prefers to keep a cheery attitude, preferring to look at happy instances because it can be so easy to dwell on the depressing. Given how long she’s lived, Cielle will explain – if she lets on how old she is in the first place – that she’s learned life is much sweeter when one permits happiness to accompany them rather than revenge, regret, and many other darker emotions. The fact they creep up not being the problem so much as people allowing themselves to drown in such. For this reason one generally finds Cielle in a good mood or close to one.
However Cielle is lackadaisical to a degree, often preferring to just sit back and relax rather than doing a whole lot. Most often it’s gotten her in trouble with her family back home, though they’ve ceased being a thorn in her side since leaving, and have generally proven to be a thorn in any idea of returning even if she’s someday successful with her “mission.” Besides returning home could inhibit one of her main desires in life to travel since even if she can’t view the sights there are other ways to experience places. Every place has a certain feeling to it and she wants to experience them all. On the other hand this tends to contradict at times with her desires to just sit back and relax.
The only non-confusing desire she holds is her uninhibited love of pork buns.
Charged with a mission by her overbearing mother, the mission itself tends to dispirit Cielle a little at times, though mostly because it’s her mother’s desire to see to its completion and does nothing to inspire her. She’ll willingly take the blame for the reasons behind it and events leading up to it because Cielle won’t shy away from accepting responsibility (most of the time), but she doesn’t view it as something that’ll really be “fixed” either. Her unwanted quest instead tends to be the occasional conversation opener for her, the girl enjoying company of other people because they add a new flavor to life.
There is a strange behavior since she does tend to use words associated with the other senses when regarding the world and tangible objects. Thanks to memories of family and other Sanguine however she’s learned to perceive objects to some extent, mainly able to “taste” their colors and sometimes likening a person to a color (like an odd mood ring). Why she does it is assumed for personal amusement, but she does tend to be right about the color of things too.
Main/Favored Weapon: Self (II)

Spoiler:
Special Abilities:
Spoiler:
Name: Menace Sensing
Requirements: 8 point training, my permission
Description: Though some powers are derived directly from the senses, the plucking of an eyeball holding a hefty price on the black market for some, other abilities utilize the senses purely as a gateway. One of the greatest senses is that of sight, though it may lie at times, it is how one perceives the world and gives certain words meaning. Hearing and speaking gives voice to thoughts, beliefs, and ideas making both of these senses powerful within their own rights as they give way to persuade and move another. Touch and taste require a bit more art to their use, as some are capable of discovering the feelings of another through an embrace or barest of touch, and to discover a hidden flavor that others might miss.
Then there is the mind’s eye, a special other sense that often comes in the form of intuition or gut feelings. Usually they are kept more towards sensational feelings internally, but can give rise to other forms when one has enhanced their natural senses beyond normal means. It is often said that even the simplest of animals possess similar abilities as humans became blind in their quest for power, animals able to predict natural disasters and avoid them or manage to outlive owners during such occasions. For such creatures menace and threat become very palpable to their senses. Before one fully comes into this ability their senses sharpen, capable of hearing pin drops clearly in silence, eyes altering in order to better function beneath lower light or see more clearly during the day; and even scents, tastes, and physical sensations feel heightened beyond normal human standards.
One with this heightened awareness gains access to this ability in a few ways. Through vision they begin to see flashes of white energy when in battle or in danger, this energy stemming from the source that threatens their very life. It doesn’t just stop from their enemy however, the white energy surrounding the attack that seeks to bring harm, even when this form should be invisible to the naked eye, its intent is plain as day despite other attempts to cover it up. Stealing the eye of one who can see Menace, however, reaps no benefits to another since they are untrained for such a capability, or any other body part they believe would be of use as this becomes an ability natural to the body. That which seeks to harm can even give off distinct scents that become stronger to one trained in the ways of predicting Menace, elements receiving an extra smell to them and even items that give off no scent still attracting the nose.
Meals prepared with ill intent even take on new flavors, always tasting bile as the tongue senses the threat within. Those without eyes experience the hearing aspect stronger, sometimes that white energy seen through the sound waves instead, though those with eyes merely feel chills from the sounds of onrushing intent instead. To be touched with ill intentions causes a similar sensation, and one trained in this sensory ability feel almost wronged to be touched by someone who bares only the worse in mind for someone. None of this is to say they can react in time, as that is up to other training they’ve undergone, and should they dive headfirst into something before feeling the situation out then they’re liable to fall prey to the trap inside regardless unless spied in time. When one is blind with this ability every living creature is surrounded by a slight aura of the white energy, as they always present an opportunity for harm.

Requirements: None
Description: Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. The Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the Bunshin gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.
Name: Henge no Jutsu - Transformation Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: E (Basic)
Requirements: None
Description: Henge no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. Henge allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents. However, it does not grant one the properties of said objects or skills of that person, meaning turning into a weapon will not allow you to cut an opponent and turning into a dog will not give you a great sense of smell.
This technique can also be used in conjunction with someone, who may a person, a pet or a summoning creature, in which case it is called Konbi Henge (Combination Transformation). However, its principles remain the same.
Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu - Body Substitution Technique
Type: Ninjutsu
Rank: E (Basic)
Requirements: None
Description: Kawarimi no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themself with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack. Naturally, it won't work with another person unless their skill gap is enormous, and the object to replace oneself with must be close in size and weight to the ninja themselves. This technique must be set up a little ahead when fighting skilled opponents, otherwise, you may end up getting struck because you wouldn't have enough time to use it.

Bloodline Limits:
Spoiler:
Cursed Beginning:
Name: The Black Soul
Requirements: Sanguine/weaker sanguine
Description: The black soul is the trademark of the Sanguine bloodline, it is what makes a Sanguine a sanguine. Through the ritual they become more enlighted within the ways of the world, and more focused upon it. This and their soul increasing their brain function allows for them to be incredibly well versed in the ways of the mortal plain. The drawback is that they are driven by desires and instincts more than others normally would be. Their souls energy also leaks out strange energy during their death which for other sanguine contains the memories of them in life. For stronger sanguine their soul also leaks fragments, stranger energy constructs which allow for the “Implantation” of the bloodline, though more than likely resulting in the one who did it becoming a fully fledged sanguine themselves.
Name: Bonding Memories.
Requirements: Sanguine/weaker sanguine.
Description: Bonding memories is the name which they dubbed their ability to get memories from others and others of their kind. It is a strange ability which is more inherent and a trait than a jutsu thus the limit. Through contact the Sanguine can attempt to gather the memories of the target, though for the full effect you will need to remain in contact for some time. For stronger Sanguine it is only three posts, for weaker Sanguine it is five posts. The memories obtained before the full post count has been reached is determined by the one who controls the RPC, after the full post cap has been reached all their memories are yours. If the opponent has barrier or some other kind of defense against memories being absorbed/taken, then increase the post count needed by 1 per defense.
Name: Wisdom of Ancients.
Requirements: Sanguine/weaker sanguine
Description: A limit which makes all of the Sanguine seem like geniuses. Through their memories of those that came before them, they learn things faster, because they already know mentally how to do it. The physical aspect is what gives them something to worry though, thus why they don’t instant learn things. Weaker Sanguine and stronger sanguine both have a +25% reduction too all training requirements, however due to their reliance on their own knowledge they can never get a learning bonus from another source, even a title buff.
Enhanced Limitations
The Warped Form
Name: Sanguine physique
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: True Sanguine’s had their body altered in addition to their mind, making them unique compared to others. Due to their instinctual nature their bodies tend to have more animal like features hidden beneath them, or capable of being transformed into. This is more of a personal thing in terms of appearance but all of the physical changes functions are the same no matter the look. Most only ever get up to three, as their bodies weren’t built to be the heavy hitters, or healthy enough to handle more, but a few have more than most. For every level of taijutsu the Sanguine has they can have 1 more, but only if they have taijutsu.
Name: Wings
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: Simple and fun, this is a neat trait. Just as the birds exist so do the Sanguine with wings, be it that their arms turn into them or they sprout from their back, it provides them with the same buff. Wings allow for the Sanguine to fly, though extended periods of time would obviously cause them to tire. The wings aren’t all that tough though so be careful.
Name: Tail
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: Tails are cool, I mean who doesn’t want a tail? They can be either fluffy of scale like, or maybe just some kind of flesh thing. In any case they provide the user with more balance, and an extra appendage to balance upon at least for a little while.
Name: Bladed Carapace
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: Sanguine’s sometimes have a strange carapace grow over their arms bones, though still beneath the skin. It’s not all that tough but it can help out in a pinch. They count as weapons one rank below the Sanguine, and appear above the wrist, and can extend up to the Sanguine’s arm length.
Name: Senses
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: Some Sanguine are born with enhanced senses, and as such end up being the trackers or the awesome spies of the bloodline. Their hearing, taste, touch, smell, and sight are all boosted to above average levels. They receive a 20% buff to all these departments.
Name: Extended carapace
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: Sanguine’s occasionally have it rough, and not just in the metaphorical sense. Their skin sometimes is born with a rough coating upon it, making it seems to be harder and gruffer than normal. This skin causes them to reduce all actions against them damage by 5% should it hit the skin, and makes them more resistant to colder temperatures.
Name: Horns
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: Sanguine have been called devils in the past, and that’s probably because they sometimes have horns. They are a strange appendage as they don’t really boost much besides a sixth sense. Their horns act as radio conductors, allowing for them to sense presences up to thirty feet away, though their signature or what they are isn’t very selective and as such it’s not a god detection method to rely upon unless everything else in the area is dead.
Bloodline Jutsu:
Spoiler:
Basics
D-rank
C-rank
B-rank
Name: Siphon
Type: Genjutsu-visual
Rank: B
Requirements: Sanguine
Description: A genjutsu that is rather straight forward. The user shall either hold out their hand or cause a glowing energy sphere to appear or their eyes shall glow. The opponent who stares at it for more than five seconds shall begin to talk about his most recent actions and interactions. This technique ends if the one affected is no longer looking at the user, after three posts or if the user cancels it before then. The effect can go back no more than a few days.
A-rank
Name: Hedgehog
Type: Taijutsu
Rank: C/A
Requirements: Sanguine, Bladed Carapace
Description: Built oddly yet capable of interesting and quick transformations, those of the true Sanguine can hold deeper mysteries within their bodies. While normally the blades extend from within the arms, through a little pain a Sanguine can manipulate them to appear upon other limbs through the magics of chakra. Normally one can only make them manifest on a single alternative limb, but once one masters the jutsu they can cause the spikes to protrude from most of their body. Since they become spread out however the spikes are far smaller than that of the original pair.

In the beginning everything was dark, and that was how Cielle knew most things to be.
Since birth her vision was minimal at best, or at least her parents seem to recall the speculation she could see somewhat. Without memories to back it up however Cielle’s only known a visionless world outside of other’s memories of it. Thanks to the memories she could understand “colors” to an extent through the knowledge, and for a long time they played a small role in her world (until later). While a bit depressing Cielle didn’t think less of herself over the imperfection and instead felt interested in finding other ways to perceive the world since the first moment of sentience. Life merely applied a challenge to her, and that could be something exciting!
Her father is an easy-going man, perhaps a little too much so, and in opposition her mother tends to be high strung. Not once did he think less of her for this imperfection (the man less than perfect after all, and always ready to say so to an almost comical degree), and in fact he enjoyed hearing her impossible ideas on how to best maximize this challenge and what she could do instead of see! In stark contrast her mother bemoaned the birth defect intensely every time she thought about it, viewing it as a mark against her and as a stroke of failure she should’ve prevented somehow even if it doesn’t make sense. Everything she did for Cielle, the girl could always smell a hint of “attempted fixing” behind it all. It often made life lose a bit of its flavor.
From an early age she acquired a betrothed, which she didn’t mind so much because the boy seemed fine enough. Twenty years her senior, he often talked about interesting things, from how they’d travel the worlds and meet many people and let them “sleep over” with the pair, which also sounded fun – partially cause he always spoke in an upbeat tone and made it sound fun. He was something of an inspiration to try to look at life as a happy possibility rather than view existence as constantly doomed as a lot of her family seemed to do – Cielle and her father some of the only cheerful bunch in the house. As someone armed with five other siblings she saw this as a bit distressing at times.
Marching on through time and enrolled into the academy to learn shinobi arts, her older fiancé often helped coach her after class to best overcome her additional difficulties. Thanks largely to him and the odd “white light” she started seeing with time, Cielle managed to place well within the middle of her class, although that stood out as another negative mark in her mother’s eyes, the woman hell-bent on perfection in both herself and her progeny. Deciding it’d be a good idea to stay away from home more and more, Cielle ended up meeting a new friend one day, and her only one aside for her fiancé since most people thought her a bit weird. He was the first person she couldn’t seem to peg a regular color too, unable to find it beneath the layers of other hues.
Needless to say this intrigued her.
The man mystified her as they continued to age, his amicable persona always hiding something beneath that well coifed surface. She couldn’t penetrate the shield, but enjoyed his company all the same as she started to believe he truly possessed some of this fine attitude. At times her betrothed would even join them, the occasional hint of jealousy sticking out beneath his surface, and yet he always managed to be nothing but respectable in the presence of either of them. Cielle liked that about him: able to retain his temper and often times overcome it. She’d later come to miss that.
As this odd fellow spent more and more time with her and occasionally others of her kind he learned more and more about them. It hurt when she discovered that he’d always been curious about the odd clan and using her as a means to the end, treasured nothing about their friendship. Then again it was hard to really consider anyone a friend after they killed your fiancé and stole the entirety of his soul in order to become the same as you. Left in shock over the events she’d stumbled upon, Cielle could only watch as the man fled fully empowered with their bloodline and the memories of her dead fiancé thrust unto her. There was no need to explain to her family what’d transpired thanks to that great link they all shared, and her mother was quick with the blame as she’d been the one to bring the stranger into the fold. Thus the mission became her’s:
Quote:
”As the blemish upon the family it shall be YOU who returns your betrothed’s soul back unto our clan. It is YOU who shall find the killer and bring him not only to justice, but appropriate levels of pain in return for his crimes. It is YOU, and YOU alone who shall take him down or any others who might inherit or steal the soul fragments from him. You shall be barred from Konoha until such time.”
With their interlacing memories and ability to receive from those who died with the blackened soul’s communication wouldn’t be allowed either, any notes she’d try to send likely to be burned before reading. Leaving that night, Cielle set out into the world, accepting her expulsion from the village through her family, and yet unable to feel totally lost amidst it all.
As dark as it was to say, Cielle could claim relief in the face of all this confusion and chaos because it’d set her freed from all the other expectations. Now she had a simple feat to perform, a single mission to release her mother from displeasure, and then…she didn’t know what. Cielle never feigned to predict the future and she couldn’t imagine her mother being elated over her even after that because the mark would forever remain on her permanent record. Perhaps though, just maybe she could retain the freedom even after success?
If there was one thing Cielle refused to go without however it was a home to return too. In this dangerous world she’d quickly learned that without a safe haven one left themselves open to not only such betrayal, but far too much danger. While not fully quashed within borders at least knowing there were allies to your back provided some safe thoughts and the ability to relax. During this time Cielle chose to align herself with Iwa in her search for the criminal, the girl perceiving his trail to have led him there for whatever reason. Despite the fact she couldn’t find him there she decided to stay, turning it into that place she could return to when leads continued to dry up. Living under the name of Rin, she stayed within the village for a great deal of time before disappearing one day, and reportedly dying during a mission that turned from D-rank into B-rank before their eyes.
Predicting the fall of Iwa, Cielle chose not to stay there a moment longer as war started rising from the ashen depths. The girl had to be free from confines if she hoped to find the troublemaker, deciding he’d likely make an appearance somewhere as she’d recognized the color of the manipulator beneath his surface by now. Try as she might, in the wake and aftermath of the chaos she couldn’t sniff him out, always missing him by days when his trail turned too cold to follow. As time passed however she accepted this endeavor wouldn’t be so easy, and yet again found she didn’t mind that either. At least the soul of her betrothed lived in him, even if the man clearly wasn’t as nice as the man he’d killed for power, but alive all the same.
Aligning herself with Suna this time, Cielle entered with the name of “Hio” – having once heard it back in Iwa and deciding she liked the sound of it. Iwa had been lovely in some ways, but Cielle enjoyed the occasionally sandy storm and the feel of the soft and moving substance beneath her feet. It not only provided a challenge, but it granted her a greater sense of touch and sensation than the hardened earth as it gave way beneath weight so much easier. People coming were easier to sense, their presences shifting the winds and causing a harder pounding to the ground around her…simply lovely. Even the sun that some complained about offered a soothing comfort in its heat, and the cool nights granting a respite from the stifling waves and renewing the pleasure the next day. Too much exposure to anything could become tiresome, but it was as if some god above had perfected the region to suit her.
Explaining her circumstances to an earlier Kage, “Hio” left the offices as a bit of a suspicious character, but at least relieved she would only have to occasionally explain the lack of apparent aging. That turned out to be quite a nuisance back in Iwa, and something she didn’t quite care to repeat. Her quest had also been explained, and received with as much skepticism as her personal physique story. Still needing to prove herself, Cielle’s will to continue her quest has greatly dwindled and she’s looked more into securing her spot within the village on a permanent and trusted basis rather than regaining some semblance of respect from her mother. _________________
