Toushiro smiled as Rukia called her zanpakuto selfish. Ironic you would say that... let me explain to you what a zanpakuto is. You probably know that it is a independent spirit living in a sword, but that is not completely true. While the spirit of a zanpakuto does have its own conscience and will, it is not completely separate. It is a part of you. Like a second sub-conscience. Like such, while it might not seem like it, it shares all your beliefs and traits, - he finished with a smile. But then again, since its like a sub-conscience, it's quite hard to understand... but your motivation seems plain wrong to me, - he paused, - You do realize that you weren't really sent here to protect the Stone village? We are sentinels, Kuchiki. We are supposed to make sure the soul society is prepared for anything that the shinobi villages might be planning and manipulate these shinobi for the benefit of our city. This place is not where your allegiance lies. You must discover what it is you truly want the power for. Only that will allow you to converse with your zanpakuto. Well, at least that's how it was with me, - he said, looking at the girl.

Soul Society is fine how it is now, we only need to keep an careful eye out. No need for us to solely depend on our defense, we should help others in need." She realizes something, the zanpakuto is apart of her and it is her. "I think I understand now, she isn't lazy or selfish. She's just like me," She looks down at her weapon, once again taking it from her sash belt. What do you want from me exactly? How can I prove myself to you? she asks her. She closes her eyes for a moment, trying to push herself into the sword's mind. "You will talk to me!" she scream out loud.

Heh... not exactly what I meant by the zanpakuto having the same traits as her... but this girl catches on quick. Well, I guess now is as good a time as ever... He sits on the ground and pulls a scrolls and a pen from his bag. He starts writing on the scroll. His monthly report wasn't due yet, but since he would probably be away from Otogakure for the next week or so, he decided to send it somewhat early. Maybe I should write it later, after the training has some results, so I can report that too... His thoughts are interrupted by Rukia's scream and he turns to the girl. Sheesh... relax will you. You can't force your zanpakuto into anything at this stage. Also, forcing it into anything isn't a good idea in my opinion. But that's just me, - he turns back to his scroll and continues scribbling on it. When he is done, he forms some hand signs and the scrolls transforms into a black butterfly. It then flies away.

She's in the middle of beating her sheathed weapon on the ground when Toushiro tells her she shouldn't force her zanpakuto. "Well, I...." She stops and sly grin goes across her face. I'll show you! she thinks to herself. For a moment she considers blugdeoning the captian but decides agaisnt i because of his superior rank. "Well being sweet didn't work. Time for some tough love." she looks back down at her zanpakuto, and evil grin crossing her face. Listen here, you may be sentient, but you're a part of me. An extension of me! We should work together, like two organs in the same body. We will work together and you WILL like it. Now, tell me your name!

Hitsugaya watched the girl pummel her sword into the ground with a blank expression. That's... real mature... - he says slowly. He shakes his head, and returns to his calm sitting position. He unsheathes his zanpakuto and puts it on his knees. He concentrates, and several seconds later, a young man with blond hair and blue eyes, wearing a strange white and blue uniform appears beside him.

Hey Toushiro, what's up? Hey, Ky. Not much really... I was just hoping you could give this girl a little advice on how to deal with a stubborn zanpakuto. The blond man looks over at Rukia and adopts the same blank expression Toushiro wore a minute ago, and then bursts out laughing. That's... real mature... - he says as he catches his breath, - I think she's hopeless, - he then adds, turning to the jounin and smiling widely. She's pretty though, - he adds after a little thought. Toushiro only mumbles something illegible in response. Hey, since you brought me to the real world, how about a little spar? Sorry Ky, I must make sure Rukia succeeds. Rukia? Oh, you mean that Kuchiki Rukia? The one you... A swift punch to his mid-section interrupted the materialized zanpakuto's sentence. Ow, what did I do to deserve that? Take a guess. And shut up.

As the appearance of another person startles her, she can hear a faint laughing in her head. "Grr," Stop laughing at me damnit! She looks at Ky, "This your avaatar? No need to show off Captian." Why did he bring his out? There's no reason, unless he's trying to add insult to injury. She crosses her arms, holding her sword in her right hand. "And to what do I owe this honor to? It's not everday a shinigami shows their avataar to others." She looks up at the sun, taking a breath to relax before she attempts to converse with her zanpukuto. She closes her eyes again, Listen, what do I have to do to prove myself worthy of learning you name?

I already said it. I hoped he would help you with understanding your zanpakuto. Also, a bad tempered girl who doesn't seem to take good advice isn't much of a company... Besides... Bo-ring! You're talking like an old man again. She doesn't need to know any of your stupid philosophy, right, Rukia-chan? - said Ky, turning to the girl and smiling. Toushiro stared at him blankly before shaking his head. Not again... he's hitting on another living girl... every time I see and hear him I doubt my own words about the zanpakuto being another side of oneself... Cut it out. You're embarrassing yourself. Oh? What was that? Sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of you being boring, Shiro-jii! WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?! - yelled Hitsugaya as he jumped to his feet. YOU!... grrr... Rukia's vision blacks out, and she sees a single snowflake fall down against a blue sky. "You've proven you've wanted this enough. Don't slack off and depend wholly on me though. My name is Sode No Shirayuki. I will help you protect those who needs it." Rukia realizes she in her inner world, and as she turns around she gets a brief glance of a female in a snow white kimono. Then her vision returns to normal, making her dizzy for a few seconds. She looks at Toushiro and grins, placing her zanpakuto in her belt. She draws it, "Mai," Her weapon turns pure white and she slides her left hand across it. This knocks off snowpowder, and a ribbon grows from the back as she rotates it point down. "Sode No Shirayuki." She looks at Toushiro with a defiant and childish grin. "What was that you where saying?"

I wasn't saying anything. Though having achieved shikai is nothing to be proud of. Every decent shinigami can do it, and the rest are just foot soldiers... It's a good thing you finally convinced your zanpakuto to tell you her name. That makes things a lot easier. Now then... shall we proceed on to kidou? At least that's something I can actually help you with, - he said, getting up and fixating his zanpakuto behind his back. Toushiro wanted the whole thing to be over with as soon as possible. Training someone wasn't really exciting, even less so because Byakuya used his contacts to get an order issued instead of asking it as a favor. Seeing as how you didn't have shikai, I suppose your knowledge of the demon arts isn't up to par either... let's start with something basic then...

"Alright, I'll practice with her later," she sheaths her weapon, it turning back into it's normal form. "I'm actually quite skilled in supplemental kidou." She forms a ball of highly condensed light, almost as immediately as she raised her arm. She grins, "I'm sure kidou will be no problem." She waves her hands in the air and launchs a mostly harmless kidou blast. Heh heh, definately better than Renji! Of course you're good at kidou, I'm a kidou style zanpakuto! Just get it over with, so you won't waste either of our time. "Um, so anyways, getting back to business. What are you going to teach me first Captain?" She was sure this would be nothing to her. She stretchs, waiting for one of his serious responds. "I guess it'll be red missile," she mutters under her breath.
