A lonely figure was strolling through the plains of Grass country. He was wearing a white kimono-jacket, dark purple pants and a gray cloak, the same outfit he wore for over a year now. Some of his acquaintances requested that he would wear an ANBU uniform now that he was head of an ANBU Black-Ops unit, but he didn't feel the need to do that. The only thing that he adopted was the mask, but he wasn't currently wearing it. He had it in his backpack, along with some scrolls, a pen, some ninja tools, supplies for the trip and a glass jar filled with special liquid there he was supposed to put his trophy. Not breaking it was of the utmost importance.

Ukyo took out a map of the region and looked at it. His hideout was supposed to be somewhere around here. It must be hidden underground since there isn't much else to hide it in. Now then, how do I discover such a place? A look from above might solve the problem. He put away the map and formed a hand seal. With a poof of smoke, the jounin disappeared, and a black bat flew out of the smoke. It screeched, though no human ear could hear it, trying to pick up the differences in how the ground resonated.

(OOC: Admin Controlled RPC)

He had been following him for sometime in secret hoping to catch him off guard. He had heard that the Hokage had put a price on his head worth enough for someone to be trigger happy. But when he heard a Black-Ops was sent for him, he knew he would have to be cautious. His Byakugan had been active for sometime. Which was the reason on how he was able to find him. He knew this one had skill and would pose a fun challenge. He wasn't about to have an ANBU kill him for his earlier excursion of killing one. He saw him transform into a bat for whatever reason. He was now a target. A bat target who was in the sky.

"Too bad... it was too early for you." He said as he threw a single kunai at the bat.

The search for the missing-nin's hideout was fruitless so far. However, it was of no major importance. He wasn't sent for the hideout after all. It was the life of the missing-nin that he was supposed to take. The life and eyes of Rio Hyuuga. Ukyo couldn't understand how could a Hyuuga come to betray his village. He was a member of the most powerful ninja clan in all of Fire Country. He simply couldn't have had a bad childhood. He vaguely remembered the man back from the war. Back then, he tried to take leadership of his clan, but apparently was unsuccessful. Even so, what was his reason to betray his village? Ukyo could not understand.

However, he would have to save his musing upon this matter for later, as the outlaw seemed to have appeared on the stage. Saves me the trouble of looking for him. He heard the kunai being thrown at him. He didn't change course, only to dodge the weapon at the last moment and then fly straight down towards the ground. He transformed back into his human form as he landed. He smirked towards his enemy, quickly dropping off his bag, ready to pull out his swords at any moment. Didn't you know? Bats "see" with their ears. A sneak attack on one is impossible. Showing yourself now was the last mistake you'll ever make, Rio Hyuuga. Maybe I can finish this in one blast, - thought the jounin, grabbing the hilt of one of his swords. He pulled it out, making a slashing movement as he did, sending a horizontal crescent of fiery chakra at his opponent.

Rio had expected Ukyo to be nothing but mouth at the moment but was caught off guard by his attack and had to counter fast or suffer the brunt of the attack. "Hakkeshou Kaiten!" [Eight Divination Signs, Heavenly Spin] He yelled out as he began to spin around in great speed and force as the attack slammed into the domed chakra and dispersed quickly and fast. he then stopped and looked at Ukyo with a smile. "So this is what the new Hokage sends? I think he's stupid for sending nothing but fodder for the grass." Rio laughed as he took his clan's stance and waited for the next move.

Ukyo was in quite a predicament. This is hard... I can't decide what to do. Should I just fight him head on? It should be interesting. Then, I could "go wolf", that should also prove interesting and even amusing. On the other hand, all I need is his eyes and his death, so maybe I should give my true powers a try... ah, decisions, decisions... Not too bad. However, I don't feel quite like wasting much time on you. There's also the matter that I don't want to be hit by your Jyuuken... Okay, I've decided to kill you quickly! Concentrating for several seconds, Ukyo reaches deep within his soul. He knows what he's looking for. He wanted to try this power for a while now, but never had a good occasion.

A pillar of black fire consumed the jounin for a second, and when it was gone, he was different. His hair and most of his clothes turned black, while the rest turned blood red. His eyes also changed from normal with crimson irises to red with black irises. Let's see you talk now... - he said, grinning somewhat evilly. He then charges towards the Hyuuga with all his speed, drawing the second blade and thrusting it into the missing-ninja's heart, while keeping the shorter one at his side, ready to counter if need be.

Before he could react, his body froze as he looked at the transformation shaking a bit in fear. His mind couldn't register what was going on and all he knew was that Ukyo had changed. The change was a dark one and the chakra was a darker version. The attack that resulted left him unable to move before it clicked what had happened. The sword pierced his heart and his eyes shot open as he looked at Ukyo and spat up some blood in the Jounin's face. He then coughed and looked at him coldly. "What... do you hope to gain... from following your darkness? You don't... even trust this Hokage of yours. I can sense it..." He said as blood came from his mouth.

The ANBU captain smiled widely, a mad glint in his eyes, as he licked some of the blood off his face. What do I hope to gain? Hehehehehe.... Fuhuhahaha... Isn't it obvious? It's power! Power... is everything! I couldn't care less about the Hokage anyway! You see it, don't you? With that Byakugan of yours, you can see the nature of my chakra! It is not something a mere human can posses! And I am not a human! I am the ultimate life form! The Shinobi villages, no, the countries will fade away in time, but I will never disappear! He took a step back, pulling the sword out of the Hyuuga's chest. You mere mortals are bound by laws, both the ones you made and nature forces onto you. And do you know why? Because you are weak! Only the weak need order, the strong can have their way using power, and... - he stuttered, signs of sanity once again visible in his eyes. The black flame washed over him again, this time downwards, as he returned to his normal self.

No... this isn't right..., - he said quietly, shaking slightly. I... I bear loyalty to the people of my village. That includes the Hokage... who are you to talk about trust anyway?! You betrayed your family, your clan and your village! And... and look where it got you... - he finished quietly, his voice starting to shake.

I never... gave Konoha a reason... to trust me because... there was no reason... To trust Konoha." Rio said as he slowly pulled the sword out a bit. A big spew of blood fell out his mouth and on to the sword. Rio panted as he knew his time was coming to a close really soon. He took a deep breath and then looked at Ukyo. "Protect... your... Hokage. You may live... to regret not... doing so." Rio smiled with blood soaked-teeth.

Ukyo watched the man with pity. For some reason, he regretted having done what he did. Perhaps the Hyuuga had reasons for doing what he did. No, he surely had them. Everybody has reasons to do one thing or another... well, not true. Many reasons are not good enough. But his... something tells me they are. But what were my reasons to kill him? An order? What bullshit... was the order really justified? He betrayed the village... but was he even supposed to have allegiance to it?... It's no use thinking about it. There is no justice in this world... I will be praised by some people for what I did today, but some people might never forgive me, including myself... but there is nothing anyone can do about it. Things will remain this way until the very nature of humans changes. I am sorry things had to happen this way... But... the Hokage isn't the one who I want to protect... Saya... where have you gone to?

Hokage... knows your... potential." Rio said as he pulled the sword all the way out and threw up blood all over the floor beside him. Rio's eyes finally deactivated and he fell to his knees and smiled. "Protect... his best interest..." he said as he fell over to the side still looking up at Ukyo smiling softly. The blood kept coursing out his mouth and wound and then stopped. The leaves blew softly passed by them.
