Rosu slowly escaped the hug her mother was giving her. This wasn't really her thing. Besides, it was hard to accept her mother, or father, as parent figures after all these years. She was actually quite surprised at Saya. Then again, her sister was soft. She lived with Kaeor for several years before the sisters met again, while Rosu lived in barracks and all she knew was training to kill, and killing, people. Then she lied blissfully in coma while Rosu's life was no rose garden. Of course, it was her own fault, and she wouldn't exchange places with her sister, but still. Saya was soft, it was somewhat expected of her to jump at the first person who might be close to her. While Rosu loved her sister, she did not hold much respect for her.

So, why am I here, again? Er... hey, don't look at me. But wasn't it you who was against me leaving? And now I stand here like a complete idiot. Well, whatever. I have time. Ukyo was somewhat offended by Saya's words. Scratch that, he was really offended. Before, she came to him for help... but it seemed now only because there was nobody else to ask. Even if he was her teacher for a short time, he was a very good one. He was able to teach her moves he didn't even know himself, and only encountered in one battle, and he warned her about as many things about the bloodline as possible, or necessary... and this was the thanks he got: she ditched him the first chance she got. That was really sweet. Maybe she is far from the person you thought her to be. Even so, it doesn't change a damn thing. I am still bound to her. Unless, you manage to find an antidote to this thing. Where do you... of course, Rera's books!

Rera looked apologetically at her daughter. I'm sorry, but there is not much that I can teach you. All that I learned from the ancient manuscripts, was taken away by... it, when I lost control. The knowledge that remains is only something that I actually encountered in my life, all of which Ukyo here seem to have already experienced as well. What, is she playing matchmaker? Sounds like that... Sol was just about to say something when Ukyo interrupted him. Yeah... either way, about those books. Where are... hold on, I know where they are. How do you know? When I took Rera's inner demon, I obtained all of its memories. Including the things she read in those books, and where it hid them later. Oh... cool. Ukyo, what are you planning- Oh, don't worry. I already know all those "get powerful quick" schemes you found. I must say, some of them are... exquisite. But what I'm going to look for is a cure to... something.

He walked up to the throne and pushed a tiny button on its side. A wall behind him started to open, and a large bookcase rolled out of the alcove. Just as he walked up to it and started searching through the small library, Rera called out to him: Ukyo, - and the tone she said his name in made him freeze in place. I'm sorry, Ukyo. There is no cure for- Don't! Don't say it. There must be a cure. Something like this... I can't believe no vampire ever developed something to counter it. Ukyo, listen to yourself. Why would anyone want to cure... it? It is a blessing as much as it is a curse. And your case is actually rare... What do you mean it's rare? Isn't it just - wham! - and there's nothing you can do about it? No... usually, it takes several years to develop, and I don't mean several years with only occasional meetings. So, it always kicks in when the vampires are ready for it. So I don't think anybody even looked into an antidote. Then I shall be the first one to do so. Alright. But listen to your heart. Do you want to spend years researching this case, and probably find in the end that there is no cure, or would you rather spend the time to-... well, doing something about it? I... don't know. Let me tell you something - there is nothing I am really afraid of. Except for defeat. Especially in this case. Then you'd better start working towards victory, don't you think? - she said and smiled at him.

When silence once again revisited the room, Sol finally replied: For some reason, I expected you to ask that... and I'm not- Frederick, I think it might be a little late to play caring parents. Yes... but- Rose is a ninja now, whether we want it or not. She will get herself in trouble whether you train her or not. But she may or may not get out of them depending on whether you train her or not. Alright, alright... I'll train you. Lily, what about you? Oh, no thanks. I'm not so much for close combat. That and I already have a teacher, - she said, looking at Saya accusingly. Even if it was only for a short time, Ukyo was the first, and only one, to teach her anything. He was also the one who did the most for her since their first meeting, even if he wasn't exactly nice. How could she just brush him off like that?

Suddenly, a small black shadow flew through the hole in the wall and onto Ukyo's shoulder. Kurohane? How did you find me here? A bat? Oh, yeah. I guess none of you have seen him before. This is Kurohane. He clung to me when I just became a vampire. Uh... Rera-san, you look surprised. What's wrong? Oh, nothing. It's just that I have never seen something like this before. The bat made several high-pitched noises. Oh, I see. Wait, you can understand that? Uh... yeah. Is that not normal? Not at all... it seems you are full of surprises, Ukyo. Yeah... anyway, the Hokage is looking for me, so... I hate to leave like this, but he said it was urgent. I'll see you around, Saya, Rosu, Sol, Rera-san. Ah, Ukyo-sensei, wait for me! No, Rosu. You should stay. This is your place, your family. He saluted the group and then walked away. Now, I hope I won't get lost in this maze of a palace.

Saya bit her lip and shook her head. It was obvious her mother misenterpreted her words. She did not want to learn about the deep secrets and all the things that would corrupt and turn her to darkness. She wanted to know the history, the people of her clan. It was just a simple want of information, and yet she felt the whole of the people in the room stare at her with odd looks, and even felt discomfort at it. She obviously did something wrong...or said it in the wrong way. She was so prone to hurt someone's feelings that she could not help but feel a twinge of guilt bang at her conciousness.

She wanted to speak with Ukyo and explain how she was sorry, but he and Rera had a speaking before he left. She wanted to say something, but as silence returned, her father spoke the answer to her question. She was about to make her own response when Rera stepped up and defended her position. Saya mouthed a thank you to her mother as her father accepted. Saya stood up, her legs weak from the earlier battles. She felt her eyes blur slightly, but she still managed. She even managed to grab her sword which was buried slightly under some rubble. She used the sheath as a walking stick and carefully made her way towards her father and mothers. When Ukyo left without Rosu, Saya turned towards Sol and spoke in a soft voice, "He taught me things father. But his knowledge is limited and I only know one fighting style. That is why I ask you. I realized that from watching your fight, thinking about my own, and remembering your name, the fighting style...it is yours. Father, Ukyo taught me your abilities with fighting, but even with his amazing ability to percieve and teach a style he does not know, it does divert the fact that learning from the man who made the style himself would be a wise decision." Saya looked at her mother and frowned, "And mother...I just wanted to know about the people in our clan, the history behind our people, not the dark and evil nature, but those who had a role in this world." She breathed fast as her head pounded and sweat beaded on her forehead. Saya felt lightheaded and her chest heaved with the exertion of just breathing. She eventually collapsed backwards, eyes closed in exhaustion as she gave into the beckoning sleep that constantly faught to take over.

Rosu suddenly felt all alone. For six years she was always together with Ukyo, and he said it had to end. Of course, he didn't say it like that, but that was his meaning. She realized he was probably the closest person she had, since she did not get to spend much time with Saya, and those years back in the laboratory... they didn't really count because of what happened later. And her parents... it was really hard to accept them, after all these years. She felt a bit lost. What would happen now? All the goals she set for herself - destroying the SHEF, finding her mother - were accomplished, but neither brought happiness. The first one was expected not to, but the second... This is because I no longer have a purpose, - she thought, looking absently at her hands.

Sol listened to what Saya said. At first, he was taken by surprise and wondered what this could be about. The "he taught me things" phrase could be perceived in several different ways, but it became clear when she mentioned fighting. All she thinks about it fighting it seems... does she not know anything else? He listened to what she had to say and replied with a nod. Heh, that kid really is something... to grasp the principle of my style after one relatively short fight... Then Saya talked to her mother. I did not mean dark secrets of our kind, but some things that every vampire encounters, like the blood hunger. Or the thing that Ukyo did not want me to mention... recognition, which is about the most mysterious quality of our kind. But history... there is not much to tell. The truth was lost, and the only things that I know is what I've been told as a child.

Our kind came into existence thousands of years ago. It is said that the first vampire was the child of a human and a demon. I don't know anything about how our kind grew to be a large society as it was before the times of my grandfather. I know very little to tell the truth. My grandfather lived in the far west, and was a rich and famous man. He was also cautious, and left that place for someplace unknown soon after his unchanging appearance started causing bad rumors. However, his two young sons, one of who was my father, remained to live there. Father told me that grandmother had an incurable illness, and died soon after their birth. Either way, my father and uncle followed in the steps of their father. That is, until one day my father killed his brother in a duel. He never told me what was the cause of it, and would get angry anytime I mentioned it
, - she smiles weakly, - But I believed it was not his fault, because of the how kind and compassionate to practically anyone he was. However, with the intention of helping people, he brought his demise upon himself.

He neglected that he did not age like common people. After over a hundred years, he still looked like a young man. Of course, that did not make him a good name, especially considering how ignorant and quick to judge the people of that land were. In the end, a huge mob attacked our estate and killed my father. Everything was destroyed... I was sixteen back then. The only place I could go to avoid further pursuit by those people was the eastern wilderness... that's how I ended up here. That's all the history I know
, - she finished, feeling guilty for not being able to tell Saya more of what she wanted to know. Once she finished, she noticed that her daughter was barely standing on her feet. She was about to suggest getting some rest when Saya started falling over. Luckily, Sol caught her before she fell down. The two parents exchanged a few looks, and then Rera said: I've got a house on the surface close by. She could use some fresh air.

The three started walking, Rera leading them, Rosu following close behind and Sol walking in the back with Saya in his arms. The young vampiress was really bothered by something. Mother? Can I talk to you for a moment? Of course. What is it, Lily? Well, you see... She now walked alongside her mother and told her something quietly, so that Sol couldn't hear. Lily, but we just... I know... but this is something I must do. Please, tell me everything you know. ...alright... The two spend the rest of the road talking, or rather, Rosu was listening to her mother, sometimes asking questions and making comments. Heh, women... already with the secrets. After they made it to the house Rera mentioned, Sol put Saya in one of the beds there. He thought she looked very peaceful compared to not so long ago, even if she fell asleep from exhaustion. He left the room and went to get something for them all to eat.

Rera and Lily were still talking in the kitchen when he left, but when he came back with a ton of bags several hours later, the mother was sitting alone, red-eyed. Rera, what happened? Oh, it's nothing, really. It's just... Lily left. Well- No, I mean she left. She won't be coming back anytime soon. She left... for the west. What?! And you just let her go?! Frederick. They're not children. They can make their own decisions... it was what she wanted. It wasn't my place to stop her. They sat in silence, just looking at each other and the empty table. Both felt like they lost one of the daughters they just found.

Saya lay limp in her father's arms, but she was aware she was being moved. It was not a bad move, but rather a silent one. She knew not of what was going on around her, but she was stuck to a minimal awareness of her surroundings. In those small moments, she had to review her life, as things passed before her eyes. The whole walk she reviewed the entire fight. How she fought, her style, what happened, and even, the times that Mikougake had no control. The few times the thing was active, she never had full control, and often had to watch people die in violent ways to sedate her needs of blood and flesh tearing under her sword. More than once, she caught herself falling to the pleasure, and gracing men, and a select few women, her lips before they passed, to give her that small amount of ecstasy and to taste them before they slipped into the netherworlds. The whole walk she was sweating and twisting around silently as her past glimmered before her eyes.

When her father placed her in the bed, the warmth and comfort of the matress, let her settle down to a small degree, a look of peace crossed her face as she lay there. Not all was bad. As the kiss before someone's death passed, one kiss lingered before her eyes. She saw Kaeor's lips as they closed towards hers. Even though she was asleep, her body tensed as if the kiss was actually replaying. His embracing arms brought her closer and he held her there, her lips pressed against his. It was a small moment of happiness that she would never forget. It was etched into her memory. Even as she moved her hand to her lips subconsiously, Saya knew that he was really not there.

Slowly her eyes opened and she was staring at a cieling. It was still dark, but she could easily see, her eyes specially fitted to see in the dark. As she leaned up, Saya leaned foward and stared at her hands in the darkness. She felt even more guilt at her thoughts. She had promised Kaeor that she would return with an answer to his question, so many years ago. Four years and she still did not know. Why? She followed him to Iwagakure where he was a traitor, on a mission to assassinate the kage. Why did she not do as she was bidden, and instead, stay with him? What would have happened if Ukyo had not shown up? What would she have done on that night with him? Was she ready for such a thing? Or was she being selfish, denying Kaeor an answer for fear that she might make a mistake that she would regret, or was it because she wanted to know just how much Kaeor loved her.

While she thought hard on the subject, she watched a bird fly through the window, and perch itself on her hand. Saya smiled gently at the animal and offered her left index finger for the bird to perch itself on. She watched it as it wrapped its leathery claws wrapped themselves around her finger. The bird was small, but its eyes held a large measure of thought and intelligence. She stared at the bird and sighed, pulling her chin towards her legs, "I want to accept his offer. I really do. I just don't want him to make a mistake, like I often question if it would be a mistake. A vampiress, the daughter of a small clan. I am woman of small renown, while he s a kage. I hold no real status in my own village. I try and fight for what it right, but have little ability to defend what I truly think is right." Saya shook her head and pulled a strand of hair behind her head and pulled the covers off. She thought about how she should present herself to her parents, but at this point and time, she had no idea what they thought of her. She grabbed her sword and walked out of the room, looking around, she was in a finely decorated hallway. Paintings and sculptures lined the walls, and the hardwood floors squeaked as she slid her foot gently across its surface.

Saya walked along the floor, her feet creating a gentle thump as she walked towards a flight of stairs. With her acute hearing, Saya heard her mother's voice downstairs. It had a defensive tone, much like how she addressed Sol when she told him he should train her. She knew that Rosu had to have made a decision herself. Saya walked down the stairs, the green feathered bird resting itself on her shoulders. It had furled its feathers and leaned its head towards its chest so that it could rest, its deep black eyes covered as it was in its own sleep. She dared not to wake it up so she moved as quietly as she could, easily making her way towards the kitchen where the voices were located. When Saya walked it, she was looking at her mother's back, and her father was sitting with a ridiculous amount of food across from her. Saya could hear her mother's pain. She could only assume she had been crying. Saya walked towards her mother and gently wrapped her arms around her neck, leaning her head forward, Saya moved over the top of her mother's head and gently kissed on the forehead. Saya looked at her father and guessed by the way that her mother was shaking that she had been crying, "Don't cry mother, this is a time to be happy...although it took me a while to figure this out. I don't want to see you suffer anymore, especially on mine or Rosu's behalf. We are both Jounin now...we can handle ourselves." Saya stopped and hugged her mother from behind and squeezed gently, "I promise you she will not be harmed...she wasn't the gentlest of people, and the only person she recognizes is Ukyo. I think she might like him. Did you see how reluctant she was when he left? Maybe she went to see him anyways. She was a reckless one." Saya took a seat between her parents, trying to lighten the mood a little, even if it was using her sister. She was not good at this sort of thing, but she had to give it a small try.

Rera smiled when Saya tried to comfort her. I know she is strong. But... I'm afraid. She is going to the land of our ancestors, the one place I am afraid to come back to... Not having anything valuable to add, Sol started unpacking the many bags he brought home. It looked like he bought enough provisions for several weeks, but he also got something that was already cooked, because making food at that time seemed inappropriate to him. He doubted anyone would disagree. He put the several dishes of still hot food on the table, and served the plates and cutlery. Some people might think it was a woman's responsibility to take care of such things, but he thought it didn't matter, and Rera needed to relax much more than him - after all, he wasn't the one who just woke up this night to find out that his body was possessed by an evil entity.

He sat down at the table after preparing everything. Rera shot him a grateful look before taking some seafood salad. She wasn't really hungry, but food helps you get yourself to think more positively. Sol put some chicken wings on his plate, but did not start eating yet. Lily's going to be fine. But we will not likely hear from her anytime soon. Despite the fact it was Rera who said that Saya and Rosu were already adults, it was easier for Sol to accept that, since for the vampiress, these nineteen years never happened. They sat in silence. Both were thinking about what they would do next. Both wanted to bring back the life that they lost, but both realized it would be very difficult. Rose, you said that Lily only recognizes Ukyo. That... might be much closer to the truth than you think. Did he ever tell you about recognition?

Saya stared at the vast amounts of food that her father placed on the table. It almost felt too good to be true. Despite the fact that Rosu had left, she felt as if she belonged with her family for once. But the air hung heavily with something she could not place. It was like it was mixed with her mother's pain, her father's reluctance, and her own uncertainty. She pulled towards her a bowl of rice and picked up some chop sticks. She clasped them together gently before dipping them inside of the white rice and pulling out a small ball. Saya parted her lips and placed the steaming rice inside of her mouth. It was hot, and unused to any food for such a long time, Saya began to swat at her mouth with her hand. She reached out for any kind of drink and grabbed a glass of water next to her, taking a long draught from the cool liquid. When she was finished she drank half of the glass.

As Saya pulled the glass of water away, she gave a few deep breaths before centering herself. She stil felt her tongue thumping with the blood in her viens. She tried not to notice how painful that was, and resigned to blowing on the rice before picking it up. She looked around while she  took another drink from her glass. She paused in the middle of her drinking and looked at both of her parents. They were on edge and not speaking anything.

When her mother addressed her, Saya looked at Rera with a puzzlement and listened to her words before frowning and shaking her head at her inquiry. Saya looked at her rice with disappointment in her eyes and spoke low, "Ukyo never told me anything. I am never told anything by anyone, and by the time I learn something important, it is just upon me. like how your demon wanted to kill me...or like how everyone seems to think that I am always saying and doing the wrong things. Mother...I tried to seduce him to come him...well not seduce him but use my bodily charms to have him take me to you. And then there is Kaeor...I tell him I love him, but promised that I would have an answer to if I truly loved him or not after I found you mother. I make so many wrong decisions and so many wrong things constantly haunt me. And this...thing..." She said, staring at her right arm and looked at its lightly glowing center. Saya bit her lip and turned to her mother, "Please tell me about it...I am tired of being in the dark. What relevance does Ukyo have to me?" She stared at her mother and did nothing else.

Sol listened to the two females exchange words. He did not have anything to say, and so remained silent. He was actually interested by what Rera was saying though. The bounty hunter was always eager to find out more about her, and this seemed like one of those times when another secret is revealed. You need to adopt a more positive outlook on the world, Rose. Because nothing ever goes the way you plan it. So there's no point in sulking about it. Rera nodded and said: I think I can understand why he didn't tell you about it, now. He knows about this boy Kaeor, doesn't he? And he didn't want to burden you. Well, it's quite simple really. You see, vampires are not just physically different from normal people, but they are also challenged with several... psychological trials, you could call them. The first and simplest one is the hunger for blood, which grows every time you fully, or close to that, satisfy it. Our bodies do not require the drinking of human blood to exist. The second trial is the fight with your inner darkness. It might never start, but the more you use the forbidden power, the worse the outcome could be.

Then there's recognition. It's the strangest of things. Basically, it's what they call love, but on a whole different level. Unlike love, it cannot be developed by years of contact, though it usually takes those years to manifest, but apparently, it can be spontaneous. Once you've recognized a person, you would realize it, and you would never be able to love another. That means, there is only one person in the whole world you could recognize. Its a lifetime bond that you cannot sever. However, it is not necessarily mutual
, - she stops to catch her breath, - Because of that, vampires having children was very rare. No vampire dared stay in a relationship for over two years in fear of recognizing someone who might not recognize them back, or will simply die of old age as all humans do, - she stopped again, but then decided to finish on a more positive note, - However, my father once told me that in ancient times, when vampires were many, there were those among the vampires who could predict who would recognize who, and thus predict if a certain relationship was "blessed" or not. That helped save many from suffering and create many happy couples.

Sol was feeling uncomfortable almost through the whole story. It was an interesting thing, no doubt, but he was the only human in this group, or at least that was as much as they knew. This recognition thing sounds really far-fetched. Do you really believe in it yourself? Yes. I know how it sounds, but it's true. Trust me, I know. He was about to say something, but the look in Rera's eyes spoke better than any words, and his argument was completely defeated. After making a "whatever" expression, he pretended to concentrate on the food.

Saya picked at her rice as her father chided her about her outlook. She could only think about how much of what she said was true. Maybe she might be able to laugh at it all later, but all this happened in a matter of days. Her life was on speed dial and she had no real control of it. She took another piece of rice and blew on it before placing it in her mouth and she stared at her mother as she asked if Ukyo knew about Kaeor, "Well yes..." She stopped after answering her mother's question and blinked when her mother said that Ukyo didn't want to burden her, "But..." She stopped again as her mother spoke more. She knew full well about the hunger for blood, having sated it on both Kaeor and Ukyo. She licked her suddenly dry lips and thought hard about it, 'Should I drink anymore blood? I thought it was natural for us...not dangerous. What have I been doing? What if I become a blood thirsty monster?' Saya shook as she thought about the horrid outcome of constantly drinking blood. From now on she concluded that she would only drink blood when she needed to heal faster or direly needed it to survive.

The third trial arose and Saya's intrest was peaked with the mention of recognition and love. She already knew what her mother was getting at before she even finished her speach. Ukyo had recognized her...

Saya suddenly understood Ukyo at how he felt towards her. But why her when he had Rosu? She was far more connected than she. Saya felt something akin to desperation take over from the situation. She stared at her mother and the hard set of her eyes as Sol questioned it. Saya was going to question it herself but she decided against chasing a street her mother was so adamante to. She looked from the two and shook her head, "This is crazy! Ukyo can't have used such a thing towards me! I mean...we haven't even been with each other all that much. How could he recognize me over my sister? She followed him more than anyone ever had, she was his student for years, she is the right choice for him! Not me! Why would he chose me? The most I have ever been around him is just under a few weeks...but if it is true and he has...then that means he can't love Rosu. But what if she recognizes him? He can't accept her love at all, because he...loves me." Saya suddenly felt how deep it was for Ukyo to have been around her, and why her sister had left, "Rosu left to try and find a way to break Ukyo free of his recognition didn't she? She wanted to be with Ukyo..." Saya looked towards her mother and her metallic green eyes held a bitter remorse for her sister, "There is no way to break it isn't there mother? Rosu is looking for something impossible...isn't she?" Saya could not remove her eyes, wanting the facts straight.

Rera smiled reassuringly at her daughter. All that you said makes sense. But you are mistaking the part where he chose you. He did not make the choice. Why do you think recognition was feared after the gift of prophesy was lost? Because it isn't a choice. A situation where you love one person but then suddenly recognize another is easily possible. It usually takes a lot of time to manifest, but the situation where you only met a person several times and recognized him or her is possible. That is why many considered recognition a curse of the vampire race. She looked defeated when Saya speculated about the reasons Rosu could have left. What you say could be true. However, that isn't the case. We talked about it while you were sleeping...

She wanted him to be happy, whether it be with her or someone else. That is not so surprising, actually. As I said, recognition is like love on the next level - a very deep feeling that lasts for the whole life. But after what happened in that underground chamber... she realized he had recognized you. And since she wouldn't be able to hide the truth forever, she chose to leave, to avoid burdening you both. She... she also said she was afraid, afraid that it will drive her mad and she'd end up attacking you with the intent to kill again... so she decided to leave, go far away from here and find a goal that would help her forget about it. And a goal to find a cure for recognition seemed like the perfect choice...
- she stopped and looked down at the floor under the table.

No vampire ever found a way to counter it. But I don't know if anybody put some real work into researching the possibilities either, so there is hope that Lily will succeed. And... I don't think she's planning on coming back otherwise. Sol abruptly stood up. What! You mean you let her go knowing that she wasn't going to return? Frederick, try to understand. If she stayed, she would only suffer more, and made everyone uncomfortable... and God knows how it could have ended. This is best, for everybody. The bounty hunter wanted to say something, but there was nothing he could. What Rera said was right. Damn it. I already hate this recognition thing, and I'm not even a vampire.

Saya stared at her mother when she said that Ukyo did not chose her. Of course he had to, its not like he just looked at her when they first met and he decided there he wanted that kind of connection. She never noticed when this happened. As if a smack came to her face, Saya's eyes snapped open and back to that fateful night when Kaeor made his move upon her. That time in the doorway after Kaeor had left. She frowned as she remembered his words:

"This is so much fun... I don't push you, I let you take your own decisions. But Kaeor's forcefulness had driven you to say something you aren't even sure about... or are you? Well, it doesn't matter... I think you can only take so many surprises a day, but I'll be a big selfish idiot and tell you anyway. I... you... heh, can't pick the right words... you are beautiful, Saya. Not just on the outside, you are beautiful on the inside - and that's what truly matters. I have seen it in your eyes... you are unique, completely untainted by this world's darkness. You are so innocent, so pure... you are like an angel for me... I love you, Saya."

Saya felt the relevance of his words in her mind as she thought about them, "Back in Kirigakure...a few years ago...he said he loved me, said I was his angel. Was that when he recognized me? It had to of been. But why me? I am just a girl who has no true purpose but to fight in this life." Saya sighed and her shoudlers drooped as she looked at her father, "Rosu...Lilly, she was never one for these emotions. For her, this has to be heartbreaking, even hurting her. If she said she would fight me again, I don't doubt it. If my suspicions are true...she is too late and knows it. She wants to be with Ukyo and I am the obstacle in her path, her own twin sister. Its sad but...something like fighting over a man...or even a woman is a strong possbility." Saya thought to herself about Ukyo and Kaeor. Would those two fight over her just because she was a woman that they both desired? Was she shallow enough to let this happen?

Saya was brought out of her thoughts as her father made an outbreak towards Rosu. Saya listened to their quick words and she looked at her father, "You don't even know the half of it father...you do realize by now that mother has made that commitment to you. You can hate it, but mother sees only you now I suppose. But," Saya paused to look at her mother and spoke again, "I can't accept that Ukyo is bound to love me for the rest of his life...however long that may be for him. I...I don't know if I want this kind of commitment. If I live...far longer than human's do...if I live for eternity, that would mean if my partner ever dies I will become a hollow shell of my former self." Saya picked at her rice but smiled, "Ironic really...this always seems to happen. I won't try and dwell on the negatives this time." Saya ate some more rice and drank from her glass of water, "Father? When do you think we can leave for some training?" She could not help but wonder how long that it could be.
