Full Sig Tutorial For Beginners with Most Programs

It was originally for Megume but I added it here so now you can use it, you should try one sig on your own before doing this tutorial, I edited it a bit

STEP 1

Start up a new sig, pick a size, ussually sig makers have a favourite size not to big but not to small, I like 350x125 pixels its up to you though

Ok first off, I think every sig I've ever made except my first 5 starts off like this: black background that should look like this

STEP 1

go to Layer>New>Layer (on top tool bar, it might be insert>layer depending on your program)

Then I do a bit of brushing with white for this first part I used a brush called: shiny_little_brushes, make sure to put the oppacity and fill of the brush of 100% (so its not see through) So... (use a few different brushes in your brush type try to not place them over each other too much but perhaps a bit just try a few things out) Heres what I got

STEP 2

Next we get our image

STEP 3

Next we add another layer (go to Layer>New>Layer (on top tool bar, it might be insert>layer depending on your program)) we put this layer lower then our image layer, then we use the eyedropper tool (the one that lets you select a certain colour from a picture or image) and take a colour from our image that we like and think will fit in, colour the whole page then change the layer type (I changed the layer type to Overlay, try out everything and see what you like)

STEP 4

that background now looks fairly kool but It could look better, insert another layer. put the layer above our last one, but below the image
do some brushing using a colour similar to the one you used before (you can take it from the image again if you want) Play around with layer type and the opacity of the layer see what you like

This step I end up redoing the most if I don't like don't be afraid to redo if you really don't like what you've made, but if you think what you've made is ok looking after 2 or 3 tries just use that. heres what I got:

STEP 5

add text make the text at least a bit see through or people may complain (I still don't know why but some people don't like things standing out to much)

Read this next part if you can't get your text to be seen clearly

Right click your layer on your layer tool bar and select blending options, then try a few of them (ussually just drop shadow works fine) until something work

STEP 6

The only thing left to do is the step I most often forget, make a new layer press ctrl+a to select your whole picture go edit>stroke change stroke colour to black, stroke the center of your image and make it 1-3 pixels wide (ussually 1)

There don't worry If the first time you try this it doesn't turn out great post the image anyways and see what other people think, then make your next sig

how many times are you gonna post this? This doesn't really help me out,(even though i HAVE PhotoShop) because I don't have many custom brushes....not only that but, I'm pretty much confused. No worries, I'll llook more into it later.

I undertsand it and I dont have PS, I use GIMP and I could make a pretty decent replica of it....infact, when I get home I will.

I also edited in a results section where you can put other ppl's results as they post 'em.

actually alls you need to do now is add an outline but whatever its looks ok the image stand out a bit though, like sticks out and makes it look pixily try lower the opacity to 95%

yeah sutre, thanks. Can you tell me how to make a border? Using PhotoShop that is. Also, I haven't made that many Sigs. Considering I barely had PhotoShop for a month. And can you make a tutorial for Signature animations?

I would make a tutorial for animations but I couldn't figure it out ask Yoko about that, I didn't even get any real help on naruto-kun

about borders you must of missed this step

STEP 6

The only thing left to do is the step I most often forget, make a new layer press ctrl+a to select your whole picture go edit>stroke change stroke colour to black, stroke the center of your image and make it 1-3 pixels wide (ussually 1)

another thing you can try is making it 2-4 pixels wide, black and changing the layer type to overlay or lowering the opacity

also I've improved on the overlay thing I'll add the part I learned later

oh ok..... I could get any help off of NK either. I had to learn everything on my own. This tutorial didn't teach me anything but how do play around with my brushes to make a better background.

Meh I don't do much else then make a background and then throw in an image, sometimes I try to make it blend more but that'll be another tutorial
