Charoo couldn’t help it. He smiled. He felt proud of himself and relived that he passed and would continue to be a student of his master. “You did well charoo” said unikurin as charoo looked at his master. “Thank you unikurin. You helped me you know that?” asked charoo in his mind “hehe all I was your sword and your mentor like said I would” said unikurin. "tank you master now i think the real training begins huh?" asked charro. Charoo smiled but he felt weak and a little light headed He couldn’t help he fell over in exhaustion and blood lose, charoo looked at the sky with a smile.

Tamotsu looked at Charoo and laughed. HE then took his hands out and began to focus his chakra to them and watched them take a green glow. He then put them on Charoo's chest and began to heal Charoo slowly. "You have a lot of heart." Tamotsu laughed as healed him. As he did, Jaken walked up to them and sat down beside them and barked happily at them. "Did you want to beat me? Could you really kill me?" Tamotsu said as he looked at Charoo. "Because to beat me would be to have to be to kill me. Could you have lived with that?" Tamotsu said as he looked at Charoo as his wounds seemed to disappear a bit more.

Charoo looked at him and smiled. " I think I could have beat you but...I didn’t want to hurt you" said charoo as he laid there and let him heal him “if I wanted to I could have sent you a hundreds of feet into the earth and let you die there but…like you said what propose would that have?” said charoo as he looked at the man with a smile “ so I guess what I am saying is that no I couldn’t have killed you for I don’t know what life I would have if your gone” said charoo. Inside his mind he saw unikurin nodding in approval. Charoo looked at his master. “so what are we goanna do next?” asked charoo smiling.

Tamotsu grumbled and then left the healing half done. He stood up and walked off a bit. "You're an idiot. You didn't see to learn anything." Tamotsu growled as he looked at Jaken who barked a bit. "You don't get it do you?" Tamotsu said as he shook with anger and then looked at Jaken who seemed to nod and ran off and collected his sword from the earthen prison. He ran back and let Tamotsu grab the sword and replaced it on his back. "You... just... go away." Tamotsu said as a tone of sadness wash over him. He walked off back inside the cabin and sat down on the bed of the cabin. He looked down to the floor and sighed. "Who am I kidding? I can't teach anyone anything." Tamotsu sat there solemnly.

Charoo was surprised at himself for being an idiot. “Why did I say that to him? How can I be such an idiot?” thought charoo to him self as he got up and stood there shaking in instability and sadness. Charoo felt sad just as sad as when his parents died but he still didn’t cry. Charoo walked unstably to the small home. He saw the door was opened but he did not go inside.” Master I am sorry for saying such foolish things. I was not in the right mind. Please forgive me master. .. “Charoo said hoping that his master was listening “to answer your question. No. I would not have been able to kill you because your very special to me master wolf…you …give me hope for my future in you I see a master a protector a teacher.. And a lover… I understand if you don’t want me or if you don’t forgive me…but I will be here outside if you want me back...” charoo said with pure sadness. He went next to the door and sat there and waited for his master. Even if it took all night and all day. Charoo sat there hating himself.

Tamotsu watched Charoo leave and then hung his head thinking heavily on what he said and how he said it. He was called a protector. He believed that much. But a lover? He began to heavily consider this title again. He had never done what he had done with Charoo before and he felt an odd connection with him. He took the sword from his back off and let it lay on the floor. He then laid on the bed and closed his eyes. "Lover... eh?" Tamotsu said softly. He began to drift off to sleep slowly and lost himself in his darkness. As he did, he found himself in a long hall of darkness with dimly lit lights every 40 feet or so.

"I've been here before." Tamotsu said as he walked the halls.

As he did he could hear the padding of wolf's feet coming towards him. Then in one of the lights, he could see a giant black wolf looking at him. The wolf bowed his head softly.

"Inuzuka-sama. I've been waiting on you. It's been a long time." The wolf said as Tamotsu approached it.

"You're my father's wolf, Mouken. Jaken's father." Tamotsu said as the wolf bowed it's head in respect and then walked forward. "Huh? Does he wish me to follow him?"

Tamotsu swallowed his fears and then followed the wolf into the darkness as water dripped on the floor and echoed in the hall. As Tamotsu walked, he could feel a warm breeze touch his skin and he felt as if the world were right and at peace. But then the hall disappeared and he could see two graves before him. They had the name Chihiro and Jinrei. Tamotsu looked on stunned and fell to knees and looked at the graves crying.

"Do you know why I brought you here, Tamotsu-sama?" The wolf appeared and looked at Tamotsu whose eyes were filling with tears faster. Tamotsu stared blankly at them. "You're mother and father were a unit once. Inseparable. They fought a group of bandits together during a routine check of the area between Wind and Fire country. That is how they found each other. But on a fateful night, they separated their union. One to fight, the other to save what was precious to them."

Tamotsu looked up at the wolf and began to break slowly. "Why are you telling me this?" He said in a nearly begging tone.

"That young man... Charoo..." The wolf spoke softly. "Will you allow him to suffer the pain of loneliness? The pain of no purpose? The very last pain your parents felt when they broke their union to save what they believed was precious to them?" The wolf said as Tamotsu looked at him with his eyes leaking tears.

"I..." Tamotsu froze.

"You..." The wolf spoke. "... you have no one. Your students are all gone. The one person who loved you before has abandoned you. And the home you once had you cannot return to. But that one..." The wolf said as a picture of Charoo appeared smiling. "... he will give you a new life. Will you suffer the pain of your past? Or be reborn in his arms with no pain and happiness unseen but ready for collection?" The wolf disappeared and the graves disappeared.

Outside the cabin, it began to rain softly. Tamotsu woke slowly from his bed and then walked over to the door and opened it. He stood out in the rain some feet away and let it fall on him and then looked at Charoo. "I wanna be reborn." He said softly. "I wanna make you my new life."

Charoo waited for his master for a long time. He sat there lost in his darkness not talking to anyone even unikurin. "Charoo...”said unikurin in his mind. Charoo did not answer he was to busy thinking of his past. He remembered his mother holding him tending to his wounds while he cried. He remembered him and his father sparing in the back yard while his mother was watching having her medical supplies ready. He remembered his father and him waking up his mother for her birthday. He remembered his father hugging him tightly forcing his face into his chest. Them he remembers the night his parents died.

Flashback

There were no lights in the house as charoo came home with dinner. A nice fat turkey ready to be baked. He thought this was weird so he opened the door quietly and walked inside he didn’t hear any noise but there was an uneasy feeling in the air. He walked silently into the living room and noticed something odd. There was blood on the floor. Charoo knew something was wrong and ran up the stairs into his parent’s room there was a heavy stench of blood in the room as he ran in there. He saw his father on the floor bleeding where his arm had been cut off and his mother attacking a strange man with bright green hair and a long dagger. "Mother" yelled charoo as he ran to his mother’s aid. The man looked at charoo with a happy look on his face. "Hehe so you’re the other hanibi" said the man as he grabbed charoo's mother and turned her around. "Say good bye to your mommy kid" he said menacingly. He took his long dagger and sliced charoo's mother’s neck. "NOO" yelled charoo as he attempted to ram the man "the man disappeared charoo ran to the window where he saw the man jumping from building to building. ”Cha...charoo" said charoo's father in a weak voice. Charoo went to his father's aid. "Shh save your breath father" said charoo holding his father's hand "charoo I am dying but... i need you to do somthing...”said his father "what is it dad" asked charoo.”There is a storm coming a big one. One that might change the world...I need you to become a ninja and protect our home" said charoo father "yes I promise dad" said charoo. Charoo’s dad smiled and died in charoo's arms.

End of flash back

Charoo felt rain on his shoulders was to sad to care. Charoo shook his head as he felt a presence behind him. he heard his masters words and stood up. " master why does everything i love leave me?" asked charoo hlding back tears.

Tamotsu looked at Charoo and then walked up to him and held him close as the rain continued to fall on them. He put the missing-nin's head on his chest and held him close and closed his eyes as lightning cracked in the sky above him. The rain continued to pour on them and Tamotsu wrapped his cape around the two of them to keep the from getting further wet. He then pulled Charoo's face up and looked into his eyes as his hair covered his face. He then brushed the ninja's hair aside and then gave a solemn sigh.

"In this life... we lose the things precious to us. And it makes us weaker and filled with emotions we shouldn't have. Hate, anger, rage. And then it leads us to do evil things, like kill innocent people." Tamotsu kept his gaze on Charoo. "I'm sorry you've lost the things important to you. But know this. There is something that loves you. And it won't leave you. Not this time." Tamotsu leaned in and kissed Charoo gently as the rain kissed their bodies and soaked them. Tamotsu let his body warm Charoo's for now. He wanted to be the spark for him that set his heart afire and gave it meaning again. The moon shone through the rain clouds on them.

Charoo felt this mans gently embrace and the gentle kiss. It was nice for him to feel this man against him and touching him and kissing him. His speech warmed his heart and made him happy. His body warmed him against the cold rain. Charoo was happy again. . Charoo reach up slowly and embraced the man and kissed him back but then back away for a moment. "Master I love you" said charoo as he looked at him "and I wont leave you either.” charoo went back into the embraced and went back and kissed him. embracing him and knowing that this man would not leave him.

Tamotsu smiled as he kissed Charoo back and then pulled away. "Hence forth, you are no longer Stray Wolf. You will be called..." Tamotsu stopped a moment and then thought as the rain serenaded them with it's song of cold and wetness. He then smiled and looked at Charoo and nodded. "... you will be called Shining Wolf. Because you bring out the best in me and I will bring out the best in you and make you shine brighter then the stars." Tamotsu said as he smiled and then went back to kissing Charoo, holding him firmly as if to protect him in his grasp. "Come on inside, before you get sick." Tamotsu said as he released his cape and put it around Charoo and walked inside the house.
