Learning - Hyouton: Eternal Frozen Mastery

Darkness surrounded the small shack which sat upon the fringe of Water Country. Lightly lanced form the heavens on high outside, an exodus for Kirigakure was an apparent tragedy, one that could be avoided through the knowledge that Rin sought, to truly master the Hyouton Clan as her father had done before her.....thoughts lingered upon her mind and soul about her father, proposed and thought of as dead, Rin had truly discovered that her father remained alive. She had spent a long time tracking his fading footsteps, and had been lead to this small cabion on the very edge of Water Country. Darkness seemed to consumed it just as it did Kirigakure expiriencing it's darkest hour right now, which was why the young kunoichi walked with a hurried pace. She had much to learn and very little time to learn it in, that was the situation that she faced now as her pale countenance faced the small cabin of red-hued wood. Her digits caressed the wooden door as she pressed forwards and gently pushed it aside. The cabin was well-lit and sitting by the fireplace was a familiar presence. His voice.....was the very same as her father's. "I knew that you would find me...Rin...My daughter."

"....Father? Is that really you?"

"So...Kirigakure is on the verge of destruction and you need my help. Follow me, I'll show you to the secret chamber."

"I haven't seen you in six years and you don't even say as much as 'I love you' or 'Good to see you?' Peh....fine, I'll come with you."

The young kunoichi brushed a hand through her chaotic tresses of icy blue, brushing silky strand form her hair as her eyes mirrored that of her father's in every facet. Her body was cloaked within blue and white, the coat of the Seven Swordsmen. She brushed a hand along her countenance as her feet carried her forwrds and to her father who lifted himself from the chair, revealing himself. His right arm was no more and his body was scarred, however muscular and had the same tone hair as Rin. His hair was unkempt and tied into a loose ponytail tricking down his back. He wore nothing upon his chest with the exception of a pure-white metal shoulder-pauldron over the lost arm. He lead her form the small room and into the hall. It took him only a moment to reveal the secret stairway. Rin followed him until they came to a chamber of pure white, resonating with chakra. There were several cubical poools of water around them.

"The first jutsu is called Hyouton Jukutatsu, it's basically the master over ice itself and the ability to use ice jutsus without any handsigns, though the power of the jutsu will be cut down.You're going to start the practice by forming ice needles and we'll take it from there until you've formed three pools of ice needles."

Chakra evened out as a layer of ice across the pool, thickening gradually with every single second that passed, a large spike forming the nexus while small spikes jutted out here and there along the surface, focusing on this formation in order to attune herself to what she would have to do to enact the jutsu she was about to learn. Rin was doing a good job at maintaining her level of chakra control until finally a crack split across the ice, then another. She whispered to herself, trying to maintain control of the ice-flow of the formation above the small pool of water. The spikes surrounding the large one began to converge it, curling slowly as other spokes formed from the curling figure.

She used her chakra to even out the ice, attempting to form the figure of a ball within the main spike while maintaining the ice covering the water while continually feeding into the spikes of ice. It was a complex art, however it was no higher than Chuunin Grade, yet it continued to aid her in the mastering of this jutsu which let Rin to believe she needed to somewhat retrain herself. she maintained her focus until a single crack began to run across the ice, spreading outwards as she continued to form the ball and the spikes forming outwards.

Rin attempted to continue forming ice spikes along the outer form of the ball, now looking much like the Raikiri described on the scroll, spreading her chakra along the water at her fingertips nearly as perfectly as she could manage, however the ice managed to crack here and there. Somehow, the entire structure survived for longer than the training had required, extending on fifteen minutes of chakra control training with the addition of maintaining one's chakra control until finally, the ice spiked outwards in every which direction on both the surface and underneath it, protruding into a ball of spikes and then cracking, a single line running across it.

Rin put everything she had into the ball of ice-spikes that she had created from the first pool of water, the smallest, however she had noticed the flaw. There was too much outside weight, and alls he could do was continue to reinforce the epicenter of the ball. he knew it was a losing battle, however that only meant that it would be perfect for her training and continued fueling chakra into the congealed ball's center, while at the same time thickening and shortening each outer spike so that it more resembled a technique known as the 'Rasengan'. that seemed to help for now, however she knew it couldn't last. At last, she finally managed to bring all spikes into the ball so it more resembled the Rasengan, the placed a single pinprick of chakra down the center, spreading the orb into something more, nearly appearing as a flower. The 'petals' of the flower continued to bloom, all the while her father leaned against the white walls and watching his daughter master this jutsu. that was when a memory of days past came to her mind

Several Years Ago...

The younger, much more innocent form of Rin stood before Master Katoshi as he handed her a sheet of paper. She somewhat raised her head in question, however somehow knew that the paper was chakra sensitive. Earlier, Katoshi had explained how in order to use her Kekkei Genkai, she manipulated the elements of Water and Wind together, making Ice. Rin had understood that part, however it was what next that she didn't quite understand. Taking the paper into hand, it cit in half perfectly, partially froze, AND got soggy the moment she touched it. Katoshi walked towards Rin now, handing her a leaf. "I want you to make this leaf freeze, Rin, using only your chakra."

Nodding, Rin took the leaf and begin to concentrate hard. she visualized the leaf being stung with precipitation and freezingin her clasped hands as her chakra began to flow into the leaf. It wasn't as easily as she thought it would be, she noticed as she continued to attempt making the leaf soggy. Eventually, she noticed something and opened her hands up widely. the leaf had began to become wet slightly. surprised by this, she continued concentrating solely on the leaf, attempting to freeze it. It only took a few more moments and Rin raised the leaf with a wide smile. The leaf was completely frozen as master Katoshi had asked her to do.

In the present...

Now, the older and more Mature Rin grasped a hand-full of water within her hands once more. She compressed the chakra within the water, saturating it with it and pressing the chakra around the water and causing the temperature within the water to decelerate, raising her hand with the sloshing water, partially frozen and freezing, and tossed into the flower-like formation. Ice spikes, jagged in appearance, lanced into the flower, however did not crush it, instead it began to form anew, nearly forming a sapling tree, it was amazing. She walked forwards as she smiled slightly. The knowledge of ice mastery had been growing within her all along, she just needed to complete the training that was at hand and show her father she was truly a ice master.

"That was a good try, howwever now we're moving to a larger pool of water, which means it'll be harder to maintain control with that much water. Let's see how you do then." with a slight sigh, rin walked away from the smaller pool of water, the rose she had spent her hard time creating crumbling into smaller chips of ice. Standing taut aside a large pool of water, Rin glimmered into it's crystal; clear surface. Reflected back to her was her own image, a mirror of herself. Noticing her surroundings to their fullest extent towards her training, she swiftly and nearly subconsciously began to spread chakra amongst her feet and padded out to the midst of the large pool. She removed her coat and tossed it to the side of the pool, where Tsukihime also lie. rin then glanced uneasily to her father and then clasped her hands together.

"Hmm...alright, I can do this, it should be a walk in the park."

Rin began to form the water into ice in front of her, churning her chakra into ice as she began to develop a single large spike in the middle of the ice. The water underneath it churned in a torrent, fueling to create more ice as she created a circle by the motion, then suddenly forced her chakra - and the spike - into a single point, moving as far upwards as possible in as short an amount of time as possible. This caused the spike to shoot up in a sudden lurch while she continued to form ice, giving way to increased thickness so the spike wouldnt crumble away while also taking special care to the stabilization of the base of the mass, spiking it up in an attempt to scrape against the white tiled ceiling. the ice began to form several smaller spikes that snaked from the mass, orbiting around it as she stood, sculpting this work of art before her.

The continued degradation of temperature within the water caused the ice to thicken and span our across the entirety of the water's surfice with the exception of a small amount of surface area where the Kirigakure kunoichi herself stood. Raising her hands to her side, Rin began to expel her chakr outwards, using it to take shape of the ice, compressing it and shapiing it inot spikes of varying appearance. Rin continued using this process to gain mastery over the ice by using her chakra in order to shape the ice as she wished, as that was part of the jutsu she was attempting to learn. The volume of the pool, however was working against her and she could tell that soon she would be unable to completely control the ice. Rin had to go to the next level in order to continue her control, and that was what this jutsu called for.

Rin quickly lowered her hands, allowing her chakra to build up within her over a period of time. Her face soon become dotted with small beaded substances of sweat as she continued to build upon her lays of chakra, gathering more thann she had previously done, while her hands remained at her side, unmoving and unwavering. She didn't even speak a word, willing her chakra forwards into the midst of ice and bringing forth shape. The ice began to beld together into a single shape that formed directly in-front of her, an Ice Clone version of herself. The epanse of ice slowly began to shrink inwards just as the clone she had just constructed for the purpose of mastering this jutsu collapsed slowly but surely back into the water.

Discouraged, however not Disheartened, Rin began to well her chakra within herself once more, meanwhile the ice had shrunk to a small rin of ice that occupied the space around her. she drew upon her Kekkei Genkai, drawing more ice from the water, just enough required for the jutsu she was preparing. The ice rose from the water, the ring of ice being thrown into the mix as well as both sources congealed into a single shape. chakra began molding the shape with repeated fixation, constructing an ice replica of Rin herself, however not forming any handseals in the jutsu's creation, using merely will-power and her chakra. The Ice-clone was nearly perfect she noted as it finished formation, then she dispelled the jutsu, allowing the ice to return to the water.

The final portion of her training was approaching, Rin needed to master this art as quickly as she could, so she could leave this place and instead aid her people. She would have to delay the second portion of her trianing for now, however she would return to visit her father once the battle that was to come had blown over, because surely this was only the precursor to a much larger battle that was to come. Rin stepped with full confidence out upon the final pool of water. It was much larger than the others, she could see. Her arms were raised form her side as she formed the chakra needed to complete the jutsu, while remaining aside her and not taking shape as hand seals at all, no, she pushed the jutsu into motion with only her will. Rin's eyes seemed to flash with an ice-blue for only a moment, before returning to their usual luster. The temperature began to degrade, hwoever the form was controlled by her chakra, molding the frost into shapes.

Arms held aloft, she continued upon concentration, concentrating intensely into the control of the shape of the masses, congealing them together at first slowly, and them more swiftly into slab of crystaline material that rose form the murky depths around her, completely surrounding her, however the process was not complete with this stage, Rin's concentration rose into cresendo as ice ccontinue to take form with the guidance of her own chakra, compressing the frozen material into crystal ice mirrors and continuing to cause them to rise out of from within the clear water and surround her. A second layer was formed, completely surorunding the young kunoichi as expected. She had formed twice he crystal ice mirrors as usual, and without hand seals at that. Her pure black irises stared at the mirrors, reflecting herself perfecty. They called to her, and so she stepped within the one closest to her. The kunoichi's image was projected within each mirror, however in only one mirror was she truly residing. She slid between mirrors easily, then slidout of them in an instant, raising her hand as if in a signal. At once, the crystal ice mirrors crumbled into nothingness and returned to the water.

Rin, however, did not leave the surface of the water, there was still more to do. The previous training hadn't finalized her mastery over the jutsu and thus she would begin to pracice all of her ice jutsus without hand seals. first came Sensatsu Suishou. Standing still within the same position as previously, Rin willed her chakra into motion, degrading the temperature of the water below her and using her chakra to compress the frost into needles of ice. She did not form a single hand seal as the needles of ice rained down from above and into training dummies that had been thoughtfully set out by her father. All of the ice needles rang true on their course. She leaned forwards aggressively, forming a half-andseal as frost and snow began to form as the figure of a tiger which rushed through a slew of training dummies then faded into snow which imprinted upon the ground and grew to slush, which drained back into the pool.

Standing still within the pool of water, Rin did not move, remaining unwavering as she remaining standing and staring out towards the white walls, her village was dieing and she could not allow that to happen. The water slowly shifted as she once again controlled the power within her Kekkei Genkai to form crystal of ice as rapidly as she could, while not moving to form hand seals. Her chakra formed the crystals as they quickly took shape, rising from the water and circling around her, soon suspending her into a prison of her own making, however one that could protect her from harm temporarily. Nearly after forming, the Ice Crystals that protected Rin were dispersed, falling within the water once more and dispersing into small chunks of ice before completely dissolving.

Rin then called upon a rather basic jutsu, however it was one of the more popular jutsus of Kirigakure ebcause of it's namesake, Kirigakure no Jutsu. The water's precipitation was stolen into another form, mist, the precursor to the next jutsu that Rin was preparing to form without handseals in order to master this jutsu. Soon, the young kunoichi began to form chakra that would degrade the temperature as it converted the mist, compresisng it with the frost into snow instead, forming a blizzard of snow in the wake of the previous mist. soon, the snow began to set around her, until the jutsu was cancelled and she walked from the pool of water.

Rin remained standing within the center of the large pool of water, her eyes concentrated upon the training dummy that was close to the pool. Rin began gathering her chakra, forming ice with the degradation of the temperature within the water, taking rough shape through the manipulation of Rin's chakra. Quickly, a large tiger was produced from the ice and lurched forwards from nowhere, clawing at the dummy and tearing it to shreds to the point where t leaked straw upon the tiled ground, then dissolved into frost upon the ground only moments later.
