Ukyo - or rather his shadow clone, but that's just details - was standing in the Konoha Stadium, waiting for people who might be interested in becoming his pupils to arrive. There was already quite the crowd, composed mostly of genin and younger chuunin, the kind of people who had the most free time, ambition and dreams. There wasn't a lack of jounin, even older ones, either, but it was simple logic: there was always more genin than any other rank of ninja in the village, and many more chuunin than jounin as well. The Hokage himself would most likely pick strong chuunin or very talented but not too cocky genin - the kind of people that would grow quickly and become strong, but haven't gotten, and hopefully wouldn't get, too conceited and full of themselves, which unfortunately was a major flaw of many younger jounin, after they become strong but before they become truly experienced.
Ukyo could already see the people that couldn't hope to become his apprentices. Some were too full of themselves, some were looking mostly for fame, some weren't determined enough and some believed they could achieve anything with a teacher like the Hokage. That wasn't true though, as while a poor teacher can't give you much, it almost completely depends on the student what he/she can or cannot learn. Those who leave all the work to the teacher can never become truly strong. There was also a few people who just weren't strong enough at first glance, but he admired them for having the courage to come here and face the probable bad judgment of their more talented peers. However, he was also sure there were quite a few genin who had what it takes, and who could actually be quite strong, but who didn't believe in themselves enough. It was a real pity they wouldn't come, because such people often held huge potential, which was very rarely realized, and he just didn't have time to go looking for them.
For now, he was just waiting for people to arrive. The start of the meeting was due at fourteen hours, almost an hour away, but just as expected, many people came very early, and he had no doubt there were many more to come.

The Black Haired Kunoichi in red had shown up slightly early, by a half hour, and was walking through the crowds, hoping to find Maruko, she didn't know if she had what it took to be Ukyo's apprentice, but she hoped that by participating, she could find her own limits, and then improve on them. Though first she had to find her friend.
"Maruko?" She called over the noise, trying to find her, but finding it hard to locate anyone in the crowds, it almost tempted her to go bat, but that might not be a good thing to do. She continued to wade through the crowd, her red eyes scanning for anysigns of the young archer, and hoping that she would be found, soon and unharmed.
"Hey watch it!" a jounin stated, as she pushed past him.
"Sorry sir, I am looking for someone." She replied, with a small bow, but the jounin wasn't having any of it.
"You have to pay for that!" he said, pulling his fist back, but in that instance, she locked gazes with him, and used her hypnotism on him "You will not remember this, nor will you hurt me, you realized it isn't worth your time." She whispered in her hypnosis voice, as he put his fist down, and went back to what he was doing, as she continued to move through the crowd.
'Thou hast gotten better with thine own power' Her inner vampiress told her, though She didn't hear anything else from her, being a loud fight had started to her right between a couple of tough guys, she watched as a few of the gaurds came and broke up the two, as she kept looking for her little friend.

Maruko had her hands shoved in her pockets, eyes cast to the ground, trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Thanks to Maruko's natural tall and thin stature, she was able to slip past most crowds and potential fight areas, thankful that her also natural gift of tripping over her own feet, and on occasion, nothing at all, hadn't come into play yet. Maruko remembered seeing the large crowd as she wandered back into the Leaf Village after her training, and heading towards it. She managed to get some answers as to what was happening here from a helpful shopowner, who explained to Maruko something about Leaf ninja looking for a chance to become the Hokage's new apprentice.

Maruko didn't really have any interest in becoming the Hokage's pupil, but remembered that Shizuka had seemed interested in learning from him, so Maruko thought this would be a logical place to look. After almost running into scary Leaf Ninja twice, and almost tripping over a rock, Maruko decided that it would be a wise decision to resume her search somewhere on the outskirts, maybe on a higher platform. She managed to navigate her way through the crowd of people with minimal difficulty and turned around to scan the area again. Somewhere off on the other side of the crowd, Maruko saw a fight start between a couple of guys, and some guards break it up.

The fight attracted Maruko's attention and her eyes alighted on a girl to the right of the guys. It looked kind of like Shizuka...Maruko decided to check to see if it was. Stretching her legs before breaking off into a fast run, weaving in and out of the many people, occasionally running into people, but continueing to run. Finally, Maruko got to the spot where Shizuka was. Breathing hard from her run she put her hands on her knees and smiled weakly. "H-hey Shizuka..." She greeted, still huffing from her run.

"Finally Trouble, Konoha. I'll have to go to Dharma's place Asap." Mousy says, rubbing her stomach. She didn't bring money because of issues with minting. She sighs, pausing briefly to remember where that small house was. Just then she sees a group of young genin going towards the stadium. Almost as if fate had guided it a flyer blow into her leg. Picking it up she reads over it quickly. Her eyes widen and she jogs up to one of the genin. "When is this?" she says pointing to the piece of paper. Looking rather irrated the kid says "Today." and keeps on walking.

Her mouth spreads into a smile, "Auntie can wait. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity." Soon she enters the stadium and starts looking around for the Hokage. She notices the masse of lower ranked shinobi around her. She must be the only Jounin around there. Oh well, I need all the skills I can muster to finish my mission. Though she was talented, she wonders why Dharma asked for her help, rather than Joel's. He was a powerful shinobi, with chakra and control at least one above his actually rank. Well she didn't have time to worry about that right now, she needed to talk to Lord Ukyo.

OOC: Okay people, let's get this show on the road. The tests are only going to start once everyone here and at least two other certain people have signed up ICly. After that, I'll set up the tests, which will be similar but vary in difficulty for every rank, and will be held IN THE SAME THREAD (but not this one). Before that, you are free to RP in this or any other thread.

Kazuki's been feeling awkward ever since his hasty departure from Dharma's laboratory some time ago, and so he hadn't gotten around to meeting her again. He was feeling guilty for doing that and also for not being able to tell her the real reason he had to leave. Yes, he indeed needed to get somewhere at a specific time, however, he couldn't tell anyone why. The truth was, he was approached by the Hokage prior to those events, who took note of the young alchemist after a few loud incidents in his laboratory, and the older man asked him for a confidential meeting that nobody must know of. The subject of the meeting was vague and the Hokage acted all shady, but from what he could gather, the man was looking for a cure for some kind of disease which was a part of his bloodline, and he already tried everything but alchemy and it didn't work. The boy alchemist also learned of the upcoming search for students earlier than the rest, as Lord Tachibana requested him to become one. So there he was, in the big arena of the Leaf village, not too sure about what he was doing.

As the crowd was large enough to fill... actually, a small part of the arena, but there were still a lot of people, and the time was closing to two in the afternoon, Ukyo decided it was time to get things started. It would be fantastic if my people skill didn't suck so badly. Guess I'll have to keep this simple, - he thought as he stepped up on a small improvised stage, which looked more like a very wide but low table, and cleared his throat before grabbing the microphone. Um, good day everyone, and welcome to the Stadium of Konohagakure, not that many of you weren't here before. First of all, I'd like to thank you all for coming, it really flatters me that so many of you decided to take this offer. Now, seeing as how there is already a lot of people here and the time is right, I'll just skip the small talk phase and get straight down to what this is all about. As he said those words, the noise in the crowd died out over the course of several seconds, but some whispering could still be heard. Alright, so, there is not much to say in addition to the fliers that were hanged around the village. I am looking for several people to become my personal students and, eventually, one of the strongest shinobi this village has ever seen. I am looking for seven of you, but I might decide upon a few more. Now, I want to encourage everyone to try their best and not give up. Even if you are not the most talented shinobi, you can still be chosen over a genius if you are determined enough. Oh yes, and to all those young geniuses who came here simply to uphold their family name, please do everyone a favor and leave now. The last thing this is about is the prestige of your clan. He thought he needed to say that, even though most, if not all, clans would most likely take it as an insult. Well, whatever, he couldn't care less.
Now of course, this isn't going to be as easy as "first come first serve" or lottery, there are going to be several tests. In the end, only the very best of you will remain to be chosen from. These tests aren't going to be easy, so once again, if the question if this is worth it crosses your mind, leave. He clapped his hands twice, and smoke burst in a wide area in front of him. When it cleared, it revealed three tables, with three people sitting to one side of each with paper and pens. Now, these people will take down your names. Please proceed in an orderly fashion, genin to the left table, chuunin to the middle and jounin to the right one. I would just like to assure you that you all have an equal chance despite your rank and social status. Well, that would be all. Now, if anybody has any questions, ask away, - he finished, and a forest of hands flew up, - Oh, I forgot to add, I won't be revealing any information about the tests today. As he added that sentence, most of the people who raised their hands dropped them. Eh, figures.

As the crowd started to move, Kazuki tried to make his way towards the Hokage to have a word with him. He suspected the latter knew he was here, even though he didn't know anything about the vampire's abilities, or that he was a vampire at all. There were certain things the alchemist needed to ask him about and some things he needed to get from the man.

He had finally made it. Konoha. Wether it had been ordained in his vision while he meditated, or it was simple chance that he would come here, Tokage was thrilled none the less. He made it past security rather easily, claiming only to be a traveler, and saying an attack from wild dogs was the cause of his scars.

For a few days he had simply waited around the city, getting used to its layout, trying to meet people, and meditating. It was by mere chance that he happened upon a flyer requesting students to be trained by the Hokage. Tokage didn't have to think it much over, several of his old friends had been from Konoha, and he wanted to get some information on them, and who better to ask then the Hokage himself. Showing up in the arena, the crowd was sizable enough, certainly more than would have been in sparsely populated Sunagakure. The throng of people kept moving, some worried, some anxious, some arrogant, but Toakge stood off to the side, not bothering anyone, just minding his own business, and actually not ooking at oneone in the arena, but gazing at the clouds.

Luckily for him, when the Hokage summoned the registration group, he happened to be relatively close to the tables. He started off by walking to the chunin table, but stopped and realized that was a long time ago he was at their level. So he turned and went to the jounin table, the ninja writing down the information slightly troubled by Tokage's answers. His name and age went by quickly enough, but when it was revealed he wasn't from Konoha, Tokage didn't bother saying he was a missing-nin, just claiming he was from Kumogakure, a far off country that he was certain Konoha had no diplomatic problems with.

After a few minutes, he was registered, and all set up, so he leaned back against the arena wall, and sat down, his gaze drifting to the clouds once more.

A grin crosses her face. She just needed to figure out how to talk to him without others around. Well this would be the best time, she could care less about registering at the moment. She carefully made her way through the crowd. Just then, Trouble hops off her shoulder and runs a different way. Mousy knew immediately, from the lack of weight on her shoulder and the soft pat on the ground she hear even above all the noise. Maybe is wasn't a sound as much as memory and her knowing that Trouble would do that occasionally.

She changes direct to follow him, bringing up her pace a bit. "Excuse me," she says calmly as she pushs through the crowd. She loss sight of him for a moment and when she see him again he runs up to Kazuki. Sniffing him a bit, Trouble climbs his leg and hops up on his shoulder. He looks at Mousy and points at the young alchemist. "Aiy, what is it?" she says walking up to them, "Does he have some food or something?" Trouble shake his head 'no'. Mousy looks at Kazuki, "Sorry, he's random like that sometimes."

Shizuka had hugged on to her friend, before the announcement. She had held onto her shoulders through the entire speach, before whispering "Lets try this, Maruko-chan, we could use this to keep us busy, and see how we rank with the konoha ninja." She said with out much of a thought.

Once the speech was over, she moved slowly through the crowd towards the middle table, she was, after all, a chuunin. She didn't know what else to do, but placed down her name, and rank, though felt sad that she had no last name to put down. She then looked for Maruko again, hoping to see if she had went and signed in yet. She did notice a few jounin, a few other chuunin, and a couple genin.
'Tachibana-sama, I hope that we won't fail.' she thought, forgetting her thought sharing capability with other vampires.

Kazuki was trying to get through the crowd to Ukyo, with little success. Even though the Hokage asked people to proceed in an orderly fashion, they never did. It was a chaotic mass, moving in all directions simultaneously, yet nobody seemed to be able to get anywhere. People were moving, pushing and cursing at each other. With the grace of a real jounin, the young alchemist was able to avoid any unnecessary conflict, but his advance towards the stage was really slow and he saw Ukyo preparing to leave. He didn't know where the Hokage could be going at a time like this, probably just off the small stage, but losing sight of him in this crowd would be very bad. However, his progress was unexpectedly further delayed by a weird small animal that suddenly came out of nowhere and climbed him. Huh? Hey! Oh? And who might you be, little guy? Said Kazuki, wrenching his neck to try and get a good look at the small animal that just "attacked" him. He turned his head another way once he heard the voice of the likely owner. One could almost see a comical sweatdrop forming on his head as Mousy was talking to her pet. Wow... it's like I'm an object here, - he thought, but replied with a smile: Oh, it's no problem at all. He was thinking a few things at once after saying that, but decided on the most neutral thing to say. Say, what kind of animal is your pet? I've never seen one like this, and... - he started saying, but then he remembered what he was doing in that place. I wish I wasn't so easily distracted, - he thought as his eyes drifted off to the stage just as Ukyo walked off, - I'm sorry, but I really have to leave, right now, - he said and jumped away towards the stage, forgetting that the little animal was still on his shoulder and that there surely were overzealous guards watching the stadium, not to mention all the crowd which would surely want to apple-polish to the Hokage.

The next part happened in a few instants. Of course, first of all, Trouble fell of Kazuki's shoulder as he suddenly jumped towards the stage. The next moment several other shinobi had thrown shuriken or kunai at him, stupidly having decided that he was going to attack the Hokage and that the Hokage would need their help. Kazuki realized what he had done, all a bit too late. The strange animal would likely get hurt from plummeting from this height and it happened to be in the line of fire of several projectiles. Of course, he wasn't in such a great position himself either, as he couldn't have done anything to prevent serious and probably fatal injury to his own self. His mind rushed through the possible actions he could take and their possible outcomes, coming to a simple fact that he's screwed anyway. And just as all hope seemed to be gone, a new figure jumped into action. With the grace of a swan and the speed of a cheetah, so that only a blur of colors could be seen, it flew from somewhere behind the stage to the falling pet and back, passing over Kazuki and taking him with it. A second passed to let everyone realize what has happened and notice the Hokage standing on the stage again, with Trouble on his left palm, Kazuki under his right arm and all the weapons thrown on the ground, cut cleanly in half. Uh, Hokage-samaaagh! - the young alchemist started but was dropped on the ground. Jeez, Kazuki, you're a handful. Let me guess, you thought I was going to leave in an unknown direction and disappear until the tests. Good thinking, - Ukyo said quietly but firmly. The last thing he needed is getting any more attention than he wanted, especially concerning any relations he might have with any shinobi of the village. So who's pet is this? I don't remember it with you the last time. Oh, yeah, - Kazuki said, dusting himself off, - It belongs to... uh... well, it just came... and then this girl, I think she is the owner, I just seen her for the first time and... You don't know. Fantastic. Walking up to the microphone once again, Ukyo raised Trouble above himself and said: Uh, could the owner of this animal please come up here and retrieve it? Thank you. After that he just waited for the girl to get on the stage, thinking about what he was (not really) going to do to Kazuki.

"It's called an..." Mousy trails short as he sudden leaps for the stage. Guess he really wants to talk to him. It can't be helped. However, I may be able to do what I need to do in his presence. He is her friend after all. As she thinks Mousy is already making her way to the stage. she figures him leaping up like that would draw attention and that she could get there better if she kept quiet. She didn' have to out manuever the Hokage's senses, just those guards. Also, Trouble was prone to fall off of his shoulder. She wasn't too concerned though, he most likely wouldn't end up hurt.

She was about to leap to action herself when Kazuki was attacked. Mousy was intend on catching Trouble, not sure what to think about the guy. In a way, she could tell he was just a weird guy and figured he wasn't much of a threat. On the other hand she didn't want to aid a possible assassin. Fortunately the Hokage himself scooped both the guy up and Trouble up. As the Hokage made the annoucement about her pet, she was already creeping up the stage to meet him. Had it not been the hokage, she might've tried to take him by suprise. But knowing his senses and the possibility of her getting killed she decided not to. Though a bit hurried, she walked up the stage innocent matter, her stature took on the look of a less experienced shinobi.
