Clan leader: Mira Taka
Clan Name: Taka Clan
Clan Home Nation: Konohagakure no Sato
Clan's History:
This clan orginated nearly 800 years ago in Hi no Kuni and migrated into Konohagakure no Sato roughly 100 years ago, making it a relatively newer clan to The Village Hidden in the Leaves. It all began when a man named Abyo Hoshi took one of his trips into the wilderness. Hoshi always had been a bit of a wild life enthusiast and specialized in the study and preservation of various avian species in their natural habitats. While not exactly an ecologist by profession, his family was a rather wealthy merchant family whose specialty was spices and silks from various other regions, he was very much enthralled by the interconnections of nature and the flow of energy and life without any interference of man. Well on this fateful trip, Hoshi came across a primitive society and was immediately brought into their ranks, forbidden to ever leave again.
Of course, Hoshi was very much upset by this news, but was consoled when he discovered that this society was built around worshiping a rare bird species and it's main God, a large hawk with dark red feathers littering it's dust brown plumage. Of course, Hoshi, being that he was a rational thinking man of science discounted any tales of this large hawk and was merely content to study the actual, primitive aviaries that these people, the Taka Clan, built to house their birds of prey and the actual means with which these people used them. At first, they were pensive to release him for periods any longer than an hour due to communication barriers, but as the weeks went by, Hoshi soon gained their trust and a fledgling knowledge of their language which was rather advanced for such a backward tribe and so he slowly grew to be a part of their society.
Marking the fourth month of his capture, Hoshi--now renamed Akato by the Taka elders--was subjected to the rites of passage for his new family which included him scaling the top of a large mountain in the heart of the forest to gather the feathers from their Hawk God whose name was not expressed in words due to the fact that they saw it as an act of disrespect to limit the meaning of their higher power with mere, utterable syllables so instead they crossed their arms across their chest and raised them upward toward the sky whenever referencing the Taka God. Despite his new immersion amongst them, Akato's rational, logical mind would not let him willingly accept the existance of such a god, but not going through with it was not an opition so he hiked to the base of the mountain and began his ascent.
It took him a week to scale the face of the steep cliffs and by the time that he made it to the top, his body was emaciated and rather thin and his mind was weak, often playing games upon him. Nevertheless, he collapsed in victory on the top of the cliffs and awoke in the middle of the night to a shrill shreak. Sensing danger, he grasped for his knife and lashed out, only to have his eyes deftly plucked from his skull. The pain and bloodloss nearly did him end, but he tumbled off of the cliff and would have surely died had it not been for a strange sensation of floating and the sharp, biting pain in his stomach as if something was digging into him. Flailing about, Akato's hands brushed against what felt to be feathers and talons, but could not believe it and did not have time to as he again lost consciousness.
The next day, he awoke floating face upward in a stream, the sun steaming down on him and causing him to wince in pain. Believing that he'd been hulicinating due to hunger and stress and had fallen off of the mountain, Akato attempted to move and found his body unbroken. Still unreconcilable was his ability to see after the events that he had thought were mere figments of his imagination. Swimming to shore, he bent over it and stared in horror as he caught sight of his eyes. They did not resemble human eyes in the slightest, no they more closely ressembled eyes that he was more than familiar with, those of the hawk. The whites of his eyes were a pale yellow and his pupils were larger, darker in nature that contracted into slightly-slit like lines in the bright glare of the sun. Shocked and beyond explanation, he nearly gasped and comitted suicide but soon found a single, larger red feather floating down from above him. It was nearly three feet in length and two and half feet wide which meant that it had to have come from a monster. Despite it's size, it was not too heavy and so Hoshi stumbled back to the Taka Tribe's village.
By the time he made it, he was truely near death and they were aghast at his transformation. Taking the feather as a bad omen, they made him an outcast and sent him to die. Hoshi found no other way but to perhaps go back to where his nightmare had begun so he went back to the mountain and found that he made the climb much easier this time. The feather he wore upon his back and by the time he made it atop the clifface, he found no sign of any of the events. Taking the chance to rest, he did so and soon awoke at dust to yet another dull shriek. This time, he was able to avoid having his eyes plucked out, Hoshi was shocked to find his reflexes increased a great deal as well as his overall speed, strength, and stamina. Finally brought face to face with an enormous hawk, he was finally forced to believe in the Taka God and bowed to show his respect. The hawk merely ruffled it's feathers and placed a single wingtip against Hoshi's forehead, allowing it to communicate its thoughts to Hoshi.
Apparently, Hoshi had frightened it the first time he arrived at the mountain base because humans in the past had hunted the hawk and plucked its feathers while it slept so it took to sleeping during the day and keeping a vigilant guard during the night. When it saw Hoshi sleeping upon the rock face, it attacked and took from his the gift of sight so that he could never take the hawk's feathers nor any birds for that matter, but upon having contact with Hoshi's mind via physical contact, it saw that Hoshi indeed loved birds for the fact that they were free creatures of the sky and not just objects to be idoly worshipped and stupidly followed and because of that the hawk repented for its actions by granting Hoshi the sight and power of the birds he so coveted and loved. Knowing this, Hoshi opened his eyes and shed tears knowing that while he had been spared one death, he would never be allowed into any land, much less his original home. The Hawk saw pity on this and offered Hoshi more of its insight and wisdom, that he could find refuge in another place where his gifts, the gifts of the avians, would be appreciated and not seen as a curse. Taking this to heart, Hoshi asked where he could find such a place and the hawk responded by taking him to a secluded, fledgling town in Hi no Kuni where he could start anew.
Hoshi soon met a young woman named Kaito after having established himself as a renown falconer and the two fell in love over a mutual love of nature. Their first son was born with his eyes closed and appeared to be blind for some after. When he opened his eyes, they were large and contained very little color and the vision appeared to be blurred. Kaito wept at this and her child not being able to see but Hoshi did not. He went instead back to that same mountain and begged the hawk to restore the sight of his son as he believed that it was through his own fault that his child was harmed. The hawk returned this plea by amusedly preening its feathers and urging Hoshi to return home and that he would find the matter resolved. After returning home, Hoshi was astonished to find that his son's eyes more closely resembled his own if they had a bit more white about them. Over the next year, the child whose name was Daiyo grew with excellent speed and developed into an unusually bright child with above average skills. At the age of eleven, he could outrun and out maneuver the fastest and most flexible children and young adults and his aim as beyond compare, only surpassed by his father's.
A traveling stranger told them of a growing need for shinobi and that their son would make an excellent one. Being pacifists, they were reluctant to allow their son to fight but the man compromised and said that he would teach their son only to hone his natural skills. The man's name was Kaishin and he tutored Daiyo in return for room and board at the aviary.
This aviary more ressembled a large greenhouse in that it towered over the rest of village, though at the time the village was rather small and still rather part of the forest so it was well at home. Within the glass panels were towering trees in which the bird roosted when out of their cubbards. At the back of the Aviary was a wooden section and it was out of this section, that most of the supplies were stored and sold. This area ressembled a large store and it possessed a rather large amount of room for one to live and/or stay and it protruded out of the aviary and on to the main road in the form of an extra branch. Here is where Hoshi and his family, as well as Kaishin, lived and sold their wares.
Soon Daiyo's talents and skills earned him a reputation as an excellent fighter and the love of a young woman, Shai, whose father was a merchant. Hoshi and Kaito had four more children who also underwent the training of Kaishin though they lacked the work ethic and determination of their eldest brother. This training was done out of a growing tradition and because Kaishin felt indebted to the family due to the fact that they allowed him to reside in their aviary and Kaishin had become like one of the family so he did so as his service to the Taka Clan(though it was not called such then). One however, was able to take to tasks far easier than Daiyo and when he came of age, he chose to leave the family's home and become stronger, his name was Hytan.
Daiyo and Shai were wed at the age of twenty-seven an twenty-eight while an eighteen-year-old Hytan traveled with Kaishan to become all that he could be. Daiyo and Shai had five children and he trained them all in the family's own style which lent itself well to their ability to sense incoming attacks and predict movement as well as see higher ranges of motion with incredible accuracy and each child was born with the trademark blindness then eventual development of the Taka Manako(Hawk Eye). These children at first had eyes more closely resembling their fathers, in both blindness and the way that there was a pale yellow circle around the pupil extending outward that left a white circle that was two centimeters in width around the yellow, but with age it became a darker yellow, one child was born with a darker green instead of yellow(but this has only been seen a few times since then), and the pupils became more pronounced and the white all but disappeared.
Hytan became a ninja and developed several jutsu utilizing his bloodline limits and abilities for one of the minor villages of Hi no Kuni, and returned back home at the age of thirty to settle down and pass on these traits. Hytan and Daiyo both took to training generations of the family and passing along these things. Things in the small village were going fine and the Taka flourished as merchants dealing in things from leather-making to the growing of silk worms to be harvested and turned into fine, durable silks and other fabrics. While they each possessed what most would deem remarkable skills, there was a definitive gap between the male and female halves of the clan(which totaled one hundred or so members due to the extended marriages and passing along of the clan's trademark eyes) which resulted in a hierarchy of sorts.
For instance, the females typically worked in the weaving of the freshly collected worm fibers into silks and dying fabrics in decorative ways while the males worked the tough, coarse leather into smooth and intricate patterns that made their clan renown for their attention to detail and observation skill. This division resulted in some friction at first as the females were treated unfairly and subjugated, but over time this cruel system of male dominance evolved into a fairer system built upon the original philosophy of obedience, honor, and respect.
The females now experienced greater freedom and were no longer restricted to learning the very basic self-defense tactics which allowed them to become stronger and faster than the previous generation. With this new freedom, the first female Elder Jainjin ascended and further revamped their clan structure in finances in such a way that put females on almost equal footing with their male counterparts who were, at first, threatened by this and begrudgingly released some of their power only after being insured that only a male would lead the family and the patriarchal society that was their clan would persist.
Another facet of the Taka Clan's heritage is their bond with the hawks. Though this bond was a lost and archaic art to them for many years, Taka Kaisho revived it and brought it once again to life by establishing an aviary on the outskirts of town where he lived as a hermit. Due to his seclusion, many of his relatives were discouraged from visiting him, but Taka Kaiso and Taka Misumi were two undeterred Clan members who visited Kaisho frequently and they were the first to publish his many papers and theories on the ecology and biology of the birds which he lived, ate, and slept with. Soon, his acclaim grew and many peoples from all over Hi no Kuni, and some surrounding lands, came to see this hermit whose words and inspiring treatises fueled a thirst for knowledge of nature. While many of Kaisho's papers were published publically, most of his documents were sealed within the Taka Clan's personal library even prior to his death as they contained things relating to the Taka Manako and their other clan abilities. These papers have thus founded the base for all of the zoological and biological information of the Taka Clan and over the generations, the Taka have produced many falconers and other nature enthusiasts as a result of this eccentric hermit's inspiring works though the Falconer's title is bestowed lightly by the Taka Clan and only 1% of the clan's overall population ever choose this difficult, arduous path due to the complex, demanding nature of the training required and the rigorous, excruciating research required to become a competent falconer recognized by the Taka Clan.
During the evolution from an absolute, male-dominated clan into a less-misogynist clan, the Taka were stressed within over conflicts over how they could best serve society and most saw that their role was that of the provider for their town: bringing in business and commerce through the sell and trades of their wares and spices and a rival faction saw that their role was that of the controlling force since their wealth made them a powerhouse already. Over the course of twenty years, bitter resentment formed and the newest Generation, the activists who wanted complete dominance over the town, rebelled against the Previous Generations in what would be known only as the "Darkest Hours". For three years, the upstart generation waged a political and economical war against not only the Taka but against the town and used their prominent wealth and political clout to start their own stores and demand outrageous amounts of money for repayment for all of the debts owed to them. This action brought the town to the edge of extinction and bankruptcy, but the original Taka Clan stepped in and payed off all debts owed to their rebellious branch in a show of power. Doing so was much debated amongst the actual members of the main clan for doing so would bring financial dependence upon the clan and thus strengthen the ties that they had for so long been wary of.
Paying off the debts would only bring about the end that they were hoping to avoid, complete control over the town, but not paying off said debts would only put an end to the entire clan and town. The clan elders were split on the issue, the more radical elders being for the repaying and the conservative side wanting to distance themselves from the situation, but before another clan feud. could begin, the Head of the Clan, Taka Jain, stepped forward to decide the matter. In his opinion, the war between the main clan and rebellious clan would not be solved by repaying the debt or not, but by taking the proper and righteous action and doing so not because it was the smart thing to do but the right thing. Since the town had been their home for generations, it stood to reason that protecting it was their main goal, even if it meant waging war against their own blood. He then repaid all debts and severed all connections with the offshoot Taka, renouncing them publically and fortifying the Taka's stance as the village's protector (Jain died soon after and Hoshi-sama took over)r. However, this transferred the debt owed by the town to the original branch of the Taka and since the government or its people no longer had any lands or power left, the town( and effectively the Taka Clan itself) was on the branch of dissolution.
The newest head of the Taka Clan, Hoshi-sama, stepped forward once again and with another show of power and benevolence, he re-issued the lands and restructured the town's goverment into one shaped around the Taka Clan, creating a minor feudal province by the name of Takanaoko and saving the world from the evil motives of the rebellious branch. Now seeing that their clan truly did rule the town and attempting to wrench control from it would prove a foolish task, the rebellious Taka branch fled from Takanaoko and took up residence in Mizu no Kuni. They are now a minor, slowly prospering clan there though they are still blood-traitors to the true Taka.
Having dispelled the rebel branch from Takanaoko, the Taka Clan made the the once small village into a thriving metropolis of trade through which many travelers made their way and some stayed, creating a diverse, explosive population. The Taka, being the main ruling family, married only to suit their needs and to further their acclamation of power, but there was another transformation of their bloodline that nearly threw the entire family into tumult. The eyes were sleeker, shinier and altogether more accurate, but at the same time, their hearing sharply decreased. While the members of the previous generation looked on in horror as their children were born with little to no hearing(though it did increase over time, but it is still below the average), they could not help but to feel awe at the way this "curse" altered the Taka Manako. For instance, they could see farther; smell better; and even extend their field of perception for impressive amounts. At first, these were perceive as weaknesses, but it did not take long before a special training method was developed to sharpen the new sight and smell abilities. So strong did they now become that the previous generation no longer had anything to teach them and to increase their power and expand the Taka sphere of influence, the Taka Clan Elders urged this new fledgling generation to migrate into Konohagakure no Sato where they could train and spread the name of their clan. Here they left their village, forty or so, and went into Konohagakure no Sato and set up, as their ancestors and previous generations before them, as silk merchants. They excelled and pushed their members into the ranks of ninja over the next 100 years and evolved into a semi-prominent though still new, at the time, clan.
Clan's Kekkei Genki:
Taka Manako - The most powerful jutsu and bloodline trait of the Taka clan is the Taka Manako. It is an eye condition from birth and slowly develops over time into it's true, fiercest form. The Taka Manako allows a Taka Clan member, should they focus chakra into their eyes to initiate the active mode, to see increase their line of sight to 200 meters without issue and their vision reaches out 270 degrees, thus leaving a vulnerable area of 90 degrees starting from the edge of their right line of vision and going in a 90 degree arc around the back and ends at the left side's edge of vision. Their eyesight is powerful and specializes in catching high-velocity actions and movement, but it can be easily obscured with any opaque block.
In the passive state of the Taka Manako, the eyes are pale yellow and the slightly-slitted pupils are dark black thus creating a contrast and making the eyes obviously noticeable. Their vision is sharper, clearer, and extends further than that of most people and they can sense incoming attacks with near-perfect accuracy due to their enhanced peripheral vision. They cannot however, sense all attacks around them and the ninety degree blindspot in their vision prevents them from seeing everything. Due to their enhanced sight and reflexes, the Taka have abnormal speed and agility, making them experts at the stealth kill and this is just as well as most suffer from some form of blindness for the first few years of life. Their hearing is abysmal, but they have developed a keener sense of smell to aid in the detecting of danger, but this hardly makes up for their bad hearing. Instead, they use their incredible eyesight to read lips and predict the actions of those around them. Taka Manako also causes the speed of the enemy to look seem slower.
In the active state, when chakra is being channeled into the eyes, the sight boost is incredible and the eyes take on a fiercer, keener appearance as the pupils contract into darker slits, though a crimson line runs along the center of the thin slit of the pupil. Their vision becomes like that described above and their speed nearly triples due to their enhanced perception. This, however, does not make up for their hearing and the incredible strain put upon the body due to the boosts in ability make the usage of this technique one that is used sparingly.
Manko no Omoi(Eye of the Mind)- This jutsu is initiated by first activating the active state of the Taka Manako. Instead of contracting as they would normally do with the activation of the active state of the Taka Manko, the pupils dialat into a rounded shape with the crimson line turning into a single red dot at the center of the eye. This allows the user to boost their sensory integration and thus make them more sensitive to electric fields and disturbances in the natural heat frequencies of the surrounding area. The sight is changed to include infra-red light frequencies and the ability to "sense" one's surroundings takes precedence over actual sight thus effectively granting the user 360 degree vision though this vision is actually the culmination of smell, sight, and a super-enhanced sense of touch and as such is not as one would normally "see". They instead perceive disturbances in either the heat or electric fields and that information is relayed as an impression to the brain, granting the user a full-on image of the person in the mind. This is effective for up to fifty meters and it can be increased up to seventy meters but doing so can cause an overload of a sensory input and thus brain death. This takes a moderate amount of chakra to initiate and smaller yet still moderate amount to sustain. If maintained for longer than thirty minutes, it can cause a severe hematoma in the brain and thus a rupture along the cerebral lobe.

Very nice detail, and the bloodline is balanced. But was this already a bloodline before? I noticed the OOC part that implies it was, so you'll have to get either 5 people to join or finnd someone who knew of the bloodline before.
