A Proposition (Sench/Invite Only)

Tamotsu had been walking a long way from Iwagakure to Konoha and was exhausted since he had not rested. He came to return something but did not feel the urge to do so. But he would need the leverage for a moment to make it possible to strike a deal with the Hokage. He walked along the road leading into Konoha, one he knew well and was not bothered by the difference in the nature around him. He was used to thick forests and harsh mountains. Konoha had the forests but the mountains seemed non-existent. He made it to the village gate and walked through when he met the guards and stopped him.

"It's... the former Hokage. Inuzuka-sama." One guard bowed. "Are you finally returning home?"

Tamotsu shook his head then presented his travel papers. "Here to see the Hokage. I must speak with him." Tamotsu said as the guards looked at him and then let him pass. He then held a seal and disppeared in a Shunshin of leaves and appeared atop the Hokage's tower. He walked down the edges of the building to the window of the familiar office and entered the office.

"Hello?" He spoke softly.

Ukyo had sensed Tamotsu long before he arrived at the Fire Building. His innate psychic abilities, combined with his training to develop them, allowed him to sense people from long distances without having to concentrate. It was a handy ability, though not really necessary in his current line of work, as there were no assassination attempts on the Hokage, or at least no real ones. I wonder what could Tamotsu-san want in the village. Of course, it could be just a visit home... - thought Ukyo, but that probability was quickly excluded as the former Hokage headed straight towards the government building. Ukyo kept wondering what his purpose could be, but only as a side-thought, while his mind was focused on the infinite paperwork. Where did all of it even come from? It's like every matter in the village had to be watched over by the Hokage. There should be an effective administrative system, with several departments and stuff, dealing with specific kinds of problems, so that I would only be called upon if it was something very important. But for that to work, I need to find reliable people, and to find reliable people, I need spare time... Damn, - he frowned, but laid off the paperwork as Tamotsu finally arrived. Greetings, Tamotsu-san, - he said with a smile, and commented on the Inuzuka's entrance, - You know, we have these things called doors around here, very useful for entering places. It's a pleasure to see you, but I guess you wouldn't head straight here from the gates if it was just a courtesy visit. So, how can I be of assistance?

"Hello, Ukyo-san. It's been at least a month since last we spoke. It's fun to be here on the opposing side of the spectrum and yes I do need you. I need your for two things to be honest. One is I need you to take this. It will help in the long run." Tamotsu walked forward and returned the smile. He dug into his pocket and then pulled out a scroll. He put the scroll down on his desk and then sat in the chair before it. "It's the Kage Bushin and the first Stage Rasengan scroll." Tamotsu said as he got comfortable in the chair and then looked at Ukyo with a different look then before. "And secondly... I need you... to allow me to pick a successor. Someone to train in my skills and secrets." He said with a scowl in his face but a pain in his heart.

Ukyo silently watched and listened as Tamotsu made himself comfortable without waiting for an invitation. What did the Inuzuka mean by "opposite side of the spectrum"? From what he knew, the former Hokage was spending a lot of time around Iwagakure lately, and knowing that the Tsuchikage was Kaeor... could it mean that Iwa was planning an invasion? It would not be too surprising actually, the Arumashi was a fool. Pft, what good to me is his scroll when I already recorded my own, better version? And first stage Rasengan, who needs an incomplete technique? It's overrated anyway... Tamotsu's next words seriously confused the Hokage. Allow you? What do you mean? You are not one of the shinobi under my command, and even if you were, such matters are not mine to decide. You pick whoever you see as the fittest to be your successor. What else is there to it?

Tamotsu thought a moment as he looked at Ukyo who seemed to be think heavily on the proceedings and he smiled. "Rest assured, I didn't come here to start any problems. I made an oath with you that I would not do anything to Konoha as long as I was under it's protection. Furthermore, by picking someone, I wish to pick someone from Konoha. Anyone who has the needed skill to be able to learn from me. So what I am asking is if you will part with one of your own to be trained by me. I promise their safety." Tamotsu sat up and looked at the Hokage with a smile on his face and a look of sincerity.

Ukyo smiled at Tamotsu's statement. That's what they all say, right before they explode in your face, - he thought, but actually said something that concerned him for some time now, - Yes, I remember that promise. However, it's kind of tricky to provide you any real support when you move around so much, and mostly stay in a country we have a tough relationship with. Which also surprises me. I heard that it was you, Kaeor and another associate I didn't have the pleasure of meeting who murdered the previous Tsuchikage, yet you are so welcome there, or at least seemingly welcome. Truth is, you're probably spending most of your time in the lion's den... but enough of that. To answer your request, I'm afraid I haven't got any students of my own. You see, all of my abilities are bound to my unique weapons and bloodline, so young shinobi would be better off learning from the jounin, - he said, looking apologetically. Or at least that's how it was until recently, but those techniques are too dangerous to pass on to just anyone. And I'm not sure I will teach some Hokuto Shin-Ken, not in the coming decade or two. I'm afraid I can't help you pick out exceptional young people.

"The people of Iwa have granted me reprieve of the actions. Further more they sanctioned the murder. But as for being in the Lion's Den, don't worry much about me. I will always be located in the same spot right on the border of Kusagakure. Further, I would like your permission to pick a student as I see fit from the genin pool. This ensures me that the student will obey not only my rules but Konoha's as well." Tamotsu spoke once more with sincerity in his voice. He sat up straight and too a more stiffer, firm position in the chair. "Normally I wouldn't ask, but I..." He froze a moment and thought of his words carefully. "... call it an adoption of sorts since I am the last of my clan."

Wow, ain't they the loyal bunch... I can totally see Kaeor as the Tsuchikage now, heh, - he said with a short laugh. The foolish Arumashi thought he was in control, but in truth, he was just being controlled like a puppet from behind the screen. But that didn't mean things were better for Konoha, quite the contrary, it would likely be simpler with the Tsuchikage really being in control. Well, it doesn't matter. It's either war or peace, whoever is the one pulling the strings doesn't matter. He mused upon Tamotsu's words for just a few moments, as he knew what his answer was going to be anyway. Of course. You are free to pick a student from any genin of the village, as long as they would agree to become one, naturally. Ukyo then thought how sad it must be to be the last from their clan. Not. So he was the last Inuzuka, so what? It's not like he couldn't fix that. Besides, the Inuzuka clan did not possess any actual bloodline, so training people to join the clan shouldn't be a problem. Yet once again, people prefer to sulk rather than do something about it.

And Kaeor isn't that bad of a man. A tad bit lazy and always late, but he isn't bad. I trusted him with my life before and I still live. But if what you say does have merit, I'll keep a wider eye on the events. Not claiming loyalty to Konoha but keeping myself from problems." Tamotsu said he stood up and walked towards the door and laugh. "Funny, I came in through the window and leaving through the door. Goodbye, Ukyo-san." Tamotsu said as he laughed and exited the office.
